Burning to DVD - Has anyone managed to burn a copy of x-mugen via the instructions found in th FAQ?  I tried it several times, but the process stops at the bzImage prompt.  This and irdloop.gz are placed in the /mugen directory.

When I use the same files on the HD, they work fine.  So far, I haven't found anyone that has successfully burned the game and played from the DVD.

I'm going to upload my xmugen to rapidshare. It's beem working perfectly for me with two player support, and all of Alg5s updated files. if it doesnt work for those who download it ...I dont know what will. Check my website. in a couple of mins.

I've been to busy lately to test the newest files myself, but I believe Alg probably has the problems worked out and the controllers just need to be reconfigured from within Mugen.  This works best when you have a usb keyboard (like I do) so you have all of the function keys mapped out.  Once I get a chance I'll setup the keys and post my cfg file.

Ok.......i'm going to make a key, and post it on xmugen spot. This key will show my mugen cfg
it will show all of the buttons, and their corresponding numbers. through this each person will be able to make their oen button configurations, including player 2 without much of the same hassle.......... I plan on doing this tommorrow...i need sleep right now........

yep, my mugen is configured right so far. mugen doesnt crash on continuing. my controllers have the same key layouts except i replaced the p2 start with another key so it doesnt conflict with p1's start button.

here is a new bzImage:

http://rapidshare.de...44/bzImage.html

black, white & triggers should work without problems.

The triggers "press" the button on the way down and on the way up. Which is a big prob imo.
Other then that it's great.

I (among others it seems), would like to know step by step instructions on how to get Xmugen to run from a dvd.I have been keeping up with all these threads (from this site, Xmugen spot, and ** Torrent Site **) and wainting to see if someone posts step by step fool proof files or insturctions on how to do this. I haven't posted much, because I do not wish to add more pointless posts to clutter the forums, as others seem to be asking the same thing. I have noticed r1sky taking some serious time to try and get the dvd to work (thanks alot by the way), but i keep getting the same problem even with the one he psted up. Gentoox boots up, scans the disc right away and then asks to insert a boot disc. Upon putting the disc back, it then spits it out saying the media is incompatible and i need to burn it on a lower speed. I have a 64 ram, 4349 mb left on my e drive, and 6798mb left on my f drive. Guybirds xmugen is about 4 gigs large, and i would like to put it on a dvd. I also tried putting it into my hardrive, following the insturcutions, but still the same problem with gentoox. I have noticed that there are 2 linuxboot.cfg files on the e and f parition folders of the downloads, so which one goes with the default.xbe? I have wasted 11 disc trying alot of methods to get it to work (I even used Qwix101 to get an iso, but still the same gentoox problem). Please post some answers soon, and thanx for everyone's pursuit of the matter. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm using the ultimate Xmugen pack, but for some reason it hangs up right after loading the nvidia drivers and says this:

hdah: bad access: block=0, count=1
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:38 (hda), sector 0
mount: mounting /dev/hda56 on /cdrom failed: invalid argument
kernel panic: attempted to kill init!

I placed the files just like the readme said, and fixed the Custom folder name... uhh.gif

Just a side note incase it helps. I am launching from the F:\mugen\default.xbe in the file explorer, because it does not show up under my apps or games.  I am using the Xbox Media Center dashboard also.
