You may want to ask in the Linux subsection about that one.

wow, I'm getting a couple glitches that haven't been said in the topic  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)

When I first run XDSL, it never gives me an option for resolution, so most of my desktop is off screen! I worked around that and managed to get epsxe working, but I during the controller setup, it wouldn't detect my controller so I tried closing the file manager thing and epsxe wouldn't close. So I rebooted my xbox and loaded linux again. When I go to the file manager epsxe is deleted!!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

I've done this twice and every time I turn off my box, epsxe is deleted!

Can someone help me? I've been waiting to play a few games for a loooong time, ever since my PSX broke  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Every time I reboot XDSL, the epsxe folder is deleted! Can someone help me? Also, most of the icons are halfway offscreen, and if I accidentally maximize a window, I have to reboot!

Very good tuto.

Here's what I can add...

You can turn on the SSH Daemon to remote in from another PC.
I use putty for that purpose.
If you want to run a text command, no problem.  It runs from there.

If you need to open something directly on the xbox, you will first need to redirect the display output:
export DISPLAY=:0.0
echo $DISPLAY

First command to redirect a new graphical window to the xbox, second to check if it took.
Then you can try:
xterm &
or
epsxe &

This will allow you to run epsxe fullscreen with no tab and still be able to kill the process when you're done.

I wasn't able to make the sshd start automatically in the linuxboot.cfg file, it's there but doesn't start up,  so I put the command in the /opt/bootlocal.sh instead.  Same as the betaftpd command.

Get out of the xbox emulators forums  if you don't like people discussing about emulators you can use on your xbox. "lil kid above", "get a job" man your an asshole go away.

I have a job and I bought the game Soviet Strike just to play it on an emulator.  PCSxbox runs it up until you get into the game, but it stalls.  Not a freeze, just a stall at the black screen with green text and a blinking cursor...just keeps blinking.  I even put in a cheat code for another level other than the first and the same thing happened.

I just tried doing this. I followed all the steps up until when you run the .xbe in the Linux folder for the first time, but when I do that... the screen gets all scrambled and my TV says "Unusable signal"... this is different from the effect that happens when i try to play PAL games. Any idea why the video would screw up like this?

This same thing keeps happens to me, too.  Has anybody else encountered this problem, or does anyone know how to fix it?  I'd appreciate the help greatly.

Sorry about the double post, but I couldn't find any god-forsaken edit button...

Anyway, I needed to add that not only is ePSXe and all it's folders and files deleted, but it seems like none of the changes I make stick at all, like it never saves any changes.

Also, and this is less important, but some things are blurry (like the nAIM client's text).  It's not critical by any means, but a little annoying.

Does anyone know of any fixes for these things?

As long as you are certain that you are running XDSL from a loopback file it should not be doing that...if it is I have no idea how to fix it aside from deleting it all and startying over possibly.  If it persists in doing so then I suggest you ask in the linux on Xbox forum as the people in there may have a better idea of how to fix your problem.

May I ask which version of xbox you own and what your mod setup is?

like tell epsxe to start in fullscreen mode as soon as the xserver starts?
