Sorry to ask again, does it works on xbox version 1.6? I think there was a problem with overscan on all the linux distros.

off topic and don't know if it has been mentioned before, but rboyl (virtual boy emulator for linux), works just fine through xdsl. in case anyone was looking to revive some virtual tetris...

Reading this I need to wander over to the *nix forum to see. Last I read Xdsl had overscan problems on 1.6 boxes and is the only thing that kept me from doing this to try Crash Team Racing.

Is there any solution to the cursor problem apart from the second gamepad one, yet?

It won't open for me. It only let's me set a command, view, and close. I'd appreciate it if someone got off their lazy ass and responded to me, unlike the last guy with this problem who hasn't gotten an answer in 2 months.

The controller thing isn't quite pulling through for me.

I follow all the instructions, then I get to the keymapping part and the controller fails to respond at all. I'm supposed to click the box for each key then get on the controller and press the button to map it, right?

I'm using an off brand controller that has 4 buttons on the top so it's more like the actual playstation. I don't see how the xbox would recognise this any differently from a normal controller, but could this be related to the problem?

Dude, what are you freaking out about? If youre this frustrated by the lack of an answer to a question you could probably figure out on your own if you erased everything and started from scratch, then youre going to be even more dissapointed with the ps1 emulation. Its clean looking, stable and SLOW. Yeah, i could FINALLY play valkyrie profile for the first time on my xbox. At about 15 fps. After waiting for 45 minutes for the first cutscene to be over (normally a ten minute scene), i officially wrote this thing off as an alternative. Its cool that this works (and, for what it does, it DOES work) but without some tweaks to the emu itself, its unplayable. I say someone with nix programming skillz picks up the linux epsxe source and optimizes it for xbox hardware. Yeah......riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.....

Back to frustrated guy tho. Just erase all your shit and start from the beginning. The only directions you need are the ones that were given to you. I know absolutely nothing about linux and i got this working using nothing but this thread. You can do it, man!

Maybe some people have it tweaked and running a lil better but i know that unless i shrunk the size of the epsxe window to minature proportions, it ran very faithfully but SLOWLY. I tried Valkyire Profile, Star Ocean 2nd story, and Grandia. All of them were unplayable for me. Like current nintendo 64 emulators on psp bad. For reference, playing mario 64 on psp, it took me a solid 45 minutes (seems to be the magic number for the length of my patience) to run into the castle, jump in the first world painting, run up the hill (without harm and straight forward tho i didnt use the teleport near the top because i couldnt stand sitting there for 15-20 seconds waiting for it to register) and toss the Bomb King once. No save function on that emulator either...guess i really wanted to see mario 64 on my psp....kinda like when i really wanted to see Valkyrie Profile run on my xbox.

edit: you know, if someone really does have this running well, that would be awesome. If you do, post if you did anything different from the main process or what. A video posted on youtube would be slick too but thats a lil more effort than id want to put into showing everyone else something they could figure out on their own by following directions.

I get that warning whenever I get the controller working. I first type "chmod a+r /dev/input/js0", then "sudo modprobe joydev" afterwards. I would then get the same warning, but ePSXe would start to see my controller. Typing "sudo modprobe joydev" alone never gives me the warning and never gets my controller working

I still have this problem, and I tried both ways, just typing "sudo modprobe joydeb", and typing "chmod a+r/dev/input/js0" before it, but it still doesn't work, just gives me the same message.
"Note: /etc/modules.conif is more recent than /lib/modules/2.4.31-xbox modules.dep"

Anybody know what's going on?
Thanks
