well i guess this thread kills the belief of the modchip fans that 9 out of 10 TSOPers fuck it up, lol

just a note, i personally have nothing against modchips and when the x3 comes out i will be definately be getting one, i just feel that TSOP is a very cost effecient alternative to a modchip for people who are as broke as i was before i started TSOP modding for people, lol

done about 40, all versions, had to "repair" one, cuz I was lazy and accidentally flashed a 256k to a 1MB TSOP.

Anyone who has screwed up a xbox by doing a tsop flash shouldnt even be trying it, its so freggin simple.

wink.gif   I agree.  I've done a tsop flash on 13 boxes and haven't had any problems.

I have a simple switch (A19 to ground) to split the BIOS area in two and made the mistake of flashing two copies of 4977 on one half with retail in the other and naturally it didn't work as both are visible but too different.

Reflashed it and everything is fine. I know forcing A19 to Vcc or ground solves this but I couldn't be bothered...

Flashing the TSOP is easy *IF* you know what you are doing, and bloody dangerous if you don't.

Done over 50 myself, screwed up 3-5 times and have always been able to fix with the help on these forums and the main site.

my first 3 went perfect with 007/evox.  last one i did had a windbond bios chip.  with the help of the forums, i got it to work with 007/raincoat.  Thanks!!  Now I can do the whole process in about 15 minutes.

I've done about 100 TSOP flashes now, never any problem (not even a "flash not writable" or manufacturer=0x09, device=0x00 error).

As long as your soldering of the jumper points is OK (use a strand of 0.1mm² wire if the solder refuses to bridge the gap) and you don't go flashing 1.4/1.5 machines with a BIOS other than EvoX M7, things should work out OK.

I found out the hard way

After about 25 tsop's I learnt what a BFM tsop meant...

BLOODY FUCKED MOBO

fixed with my own homebrew 0 fun but learnt a lot more after many headaches !!!!

good fun this modding but would be nice if Billy Boy Gates could leave them tsop points bridged already - save opening up the xbrick just to join a few dots

fanx n greets to all the guru's who helped this trainee newbie

I have only done 3 xboxes (most people around here are ps2 whores) but the 3 i did do, all were successful. The first one was a matrix tsop. Second and third ones were via 007.

all were 1.0 xboxes.

3 fuckups!

1 tried to reflash with original bios, which didnt worked out, guess wrong bios(soldered a lpc chip in and didnt try to fix the tsop)
2 1.5 xbox tried to flash it with x2 4977 (by mistake) i knew about the M7 bios (still dead, trying to get a lpc 2.0 chip)
3 1.5 xbox flashed it with 4977 again by mistake, this was so stupid and dumb that i feel so bad about it  rolleyes.gif (still dead, trying to get a lpc 2.0 chip)
