How odd, I thought everyone ran it that way : P

About the 720P  question, I'm guessing the TV will upconvert the 720 to 1080i?

Or maybe since you can't set the mode specifically for Scumm, it autodetects and runs only on 480P for me, upconverting to 1080i?

I assume if my native tvs res is 1080i, everything is always upconverted to 1080i automatically, no matter what the res of the source.

New to HDTV's and stuff though, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Not me - I've put all my games on one dvd, with compressed audio etc and I run them that way or from the harddrive.

ScummVM doesn't force 720p - it checks to see if you have enabled it in your dashboard first.

If your tv doesn't support 720p then ScummVM will be displaying at 480p (or 480i/576i if you don't have progressive scan enabled).

Your tv would then be responsible for scaling the image to whatever resolution it displays in.

snes - the scummvm.ini is in TDATA\\fff3faac

The DVD idea is a great idea.

Did you just copy the cd contents from each game and put it into it's own directory on the DVD?

That's weird that you could run in that way, but then I couldn't run the original game disc from the same DVD drive?

Why'd you compress the music? To save space, or so it could run ok on SCUMM XBox?

All you need to do is take the required files for each game (the list of which can be found on the scummvm.org website) and put them in a folder on the dvd - 1 folder for each game.

It's not at all weird that th is disc can be read and not the original game discs - there's no code in the app that supports reading the format that the original cd's are in.

I compressed the music (and soun effects) files to save space so I could fit more games on the dvd. It contains all of the Lucasarts games as well as Broken Sword 1 and 2.

I'd like to know this also. Some games like COMI would run so much smoother from disc if certain files were copied to one of the temporary partitions. It would be well worth the small increase in load time, I'd love to give it a try. happy.gif

Yes it does run better if some files are copied to the temporary partitions.

BUT - it isn't a small increase in load time - it's MASSIVE. In the case of COMI we're talking minutes.

I tried this way before coming up with the solution currently in use, but I found the extreme loading times to be a pain in the ass - and I'm not an impatient guy.

As for am I going to release the source - yes, when I get round to it or when I leave the xbox scene, whichever comes first.

hello!
I installed scummvm 0.80 on my xbox (e:\games\scummvm) and I copied the games I have (monkey island 1 to 3, Indiana Jones, etc) each one in a specific subfolder (with the same name I was using to run them via scummvm unde linux), but I'm not able to execute them...  sad.gif

When I run scummvm (from XBMC) I just get the usual interface where I have to load the game that I like, but nothing is listed there and it seems that the application is stacked as I'm not able to move the cursor nor to press any button...

any idea of what could be the reason for this issue? any suggestion on how to solve this?

thanks & regards,
blackdir

@Carcharius:

Will you include Samba support somewhen?

I doubt it, as I don't plan on using it that way.

This port has always been something that I knocked together primarily for my own use, so it only contains things I use (or have found interest in e.g. FluidSynth support).

Hmm, did that and then no files show up.

Does the XBox read DVD+R?

Hi,

I how do i resize and/or reorientate my screen under SCUMMVM? its shifted the left a few inches.
I notice in options under graphics/display there might be an opton for this.. but seeing as how i can only read the very end of the text and can not see a combo box or radio button.... i cant change anything sad.gif

A detailed description of how to change screen size/position would be great,

Cheers.

Thanks... oops only read readme not readme_xbox

I now have a new problem... All was running fine until i instaled Simon 2 (Talkie version)
I also changed the gfx settings to see the difference between them.

When i went to run the game it kicked me to evox dashboard.
And would not runn Scummvm again.

So I deleted it, rebooted,reinstalled
And it still wont run.

Us there some setting file somewhere that could be holding the malignant setting i chose thatscausing it not to run even if i delete, hard reboot, and re install in a different directory?

in the scummvm release there is no ini included. i run my emulators from dvdr. if i need to make a ini file and place it in the root dir along with default.xbe on the dvdr. then what should the ini filename be when i create one. eg: settings.ini or does it have to be named something specific.
i'm pretty new to scummvm and when i burned scummvmx 0.6.0 version i got a ini file with it and just edited the ini to point to my game folders.
i think i asked this question before but can i use the ini from the scummvmx 0.6.0 with this or wont it work or maybe it will work but with a differnet filename or something. lol my brain is going to blow up now smile.gif)
