I fail to understand the request for "correct" aspect ratio in the first place. Correct aspect ratio IS 4:3. It is not like those capcom games had odd ratio'd monitors in them, and the games certainly didn't have black bars either, so it seems being stretched is their proper display in the first place.

Because to some people, correct proportions are more important than accuracy to the original display. For instance, if you play Kung Fu Master and many other games in full 4x3 you'll notice things looking very squashed, circles become ovals etc. Whereas if you play in the correct ratio, everything looks proportionally correct. Personally I prefer the latter.

I agree that this setup doesn't work for CPS games but that's why it's great that HK$ added different options for this setting.

I see.

I guess I hadn't played any games where I noticed issues, but yeah...

It's definitely nice to have the options. Then everyone can be happy. :)

I dont notice a huge issue with aspect ratio and I would like changing for each type of game. Does it remember what aspect is for what game or even something like CS2 it is this aspect ratio or is it just what its set to?

Ive been working on XBMC at moment that will finish in weekend id say, just need to look at a few tiny bugs.

I have moded but seems most want to use HK$ build which is fine with me so I kind of put all hte features in I wanted and started on XBMC stuff.

Ill look at it over weekend only really an hour or so of work to finish it.

PS have you tried HK build it has screen tearing fixed now

i ain't tried hk build. i wanted to use mamedox because that way i could still use the older mameox i have where midway games run pretty good.
also mamedox looks good and i burned a cdrw with a few roms and really liked it.
just looking forward to your 1.5 release with screen tearing fixed.
also i know someone mentioned this before but what would be really great for xbox mame is cpu option like xport added to neogenesis where games that suffer from slowdown don't slowdown. this works great on games like sonic.
would love to see this option for mame, some games like double dragon really suffer from this and the problem lies in the actual games not the emu. so overclocking cpu option would rule.
just an idea.
thanks for all your hard work.
bye.

I only use HK$' build, because it is the best one out right now.

MAMEDoX 1.1 is pretty old now after all (well... not OLD, but surpassed), and with the tearing issues, not very competitive to HK$ latest efforts.

I am very excited to give 1.5 a try, because I am running it on an arcade machine, and interface and quality skin are a much higher priority than a ton of hardcore backend features.

sorry...about being slack but no one seemed interested screen tearing was the only real big issue with the backend for me. For me the biggest problem was sorting 2000 games nicely. Ill have a look at a public release over weekend, I finished one for me but really though features where more important to people than simplisity so thought id leave it to HK$. I personaly would have loved to redo HK$ excellent build with a new front end but hes not interested by looks

Cheers guys........any support is allways good, without it I just patch myself and do something else.

Is there any chance you can add support for multiple screen shot directories?  That would be great.

Im sorry I cant see much reason for it unless you have all clone pics as well as parent. If someone wants to help out with source ill work on it more but at the moment ive been working on XBMC stuff....because for me MAMEd is all I wanted I just wanted screen tearing gone and and easy to select interface of games.
