Xbox Kernels
« on: January 23, 2004, 10:08:00 AM »

I know there are at least two revisions of the Stock Xbox Kernel, a 3944 and 4034.
I was wondering the following:
1. What are the changes in the revisions?
2. What are any advantages/disadvantages of the Kernel Revisions?
3. Is it possible to upgrade the Kernels if there is an advantage? (as simple as replacing the xboxdash.xbe? probably not!)
4. Why am I so Nerdy?!!?!?!?

THE 2 BIOS's ARE FOUND IN VER 1.0 MOBO's

3944 - Early USA probably 2001 models
4034 - 2002 models like UK/PAL ones released in March 2002 - (man. date jan 2002)

1. - Fuck knows but older chips like messiah-x will work with 4034 bios but not with an early ntsc 3944 I got once

2. - Probably not much to notice

3. - Hmmmm - maybe as both are found on ver 1.0 mobo's but if you was gonna reflash ya tsop with a later bios I would experiment on a lpc mod first

4. - Hmmmmm - the last one is always the tricky one to answer
