I have MameOx V. 1.1 and I also got Mame-X. I installed Mame-X on my Xbox, and transferred all 60 of the Neo Geo roms that I have, I looked at the compatability list, and only 4 actually showed up, I also pressed the B button to switch to the CPS, and Neo Geo section of the emulator, and the same Neo Geo roms showed up, they all worked, on Mame-X, so then I deleted off of my hard drive, and installed MameOx again  so I did the same thing the same 4 roms showed up. So when I tried to play them all of them all of the sudded were missing files? Is there a reason they work, and not the other. Also why do a few show up, and not all of them?

One, because MAME-X and MAMEdOX v1.1 are based on different versions of MAME.  MAME-X is based on MAME v0.64 and MAMEdOX v1.1 is based on MAME 0.84... plus MAMEdOX has changes to some of the CPS and NeoGeo games beyond MAME 0.84.

There really is no reason to use MAME-X anymore.  Some people use it because it contains DCS audio speed hacks that allow it to run some Midway games like the Mortal Kombat series better than  the newer version MAMEoX and MAMEdOX.  The last version of MAMEOX that still contains these hacks is MAMEoX 0.71, so if MK games are important to you then I would use that version for those games, not MAME-X.  

Also, most people would recommend that you use FBAXXX for NeoGeo, CPS1, and CPS2 games.  I use FBAXXX Pro myself since the rom sets are more up-to-date than the standard version of FBAXXX.  

Whatever emulator you use, you should use the included DAT files to check your ROMS for compatibility.  Both FBAXXX and and MAMEdOX should include DAT files.  I would recommend using the Romcenter DATS since I personally think Romcenter is much more user friendly than the other main ROM checking utility, CLRMAMEPro.  Either way, if in doubt, your best bet is to try and get ROMS that match the MAME 0.84 standard.

Also, all NeoGeo ROMS for any emulator require BIOS files to run.  The files should be contained in a zip file called "neogeo.zip".  This file should be in the same directory with the rest of your ROMS.  The emulator will automatically find this file and use the BIOS files it needs to run NeoGeo games.

Is there an updated NeoGeo.zip, because everytime that I goto play a game its missing the unibios12 file? I downloaded FBAX, not FBAXXX I'm still having the same prolbems with the same games showing up

I got FBAXXX Pro now. I also got romcenter, the only problem that I'm having now is that the games that are not missing files to play don't show up on the Neo Geo list, and out of the 70 Neo Geo roms that I have only 7, or 8 of them show up, and the only one that works out them all is Nam 1975, the others are missing files. I have romcenter 2.70, but I don't know how to fix the roms that are missing files.

Well, you either have to either find the correct files or find patches that will change the files you have into the correct ones.

Would the Neo Geo bios files help make them work. I use the bios files for Neo Rage X on my pc

You have to use the dat that goes with the system you are using.  I think the site that makes FBAXXX has the dat's, but I can't remember.  I think I'm still drunk...anywho, Contrary to Jonesy's belief, Romcenter is an excellent resource to verify which files you are missing etc.  Hope this helps. Oh, use the neogeo.zip bios files from said site.
