Hmm,I spotted a mistake
SpeXtrum is written by Carcharius (I think)
IMHO Fusex is the best speccy emulator for Xbox, written by skratchy who made the sources available

Anyone with coding knowledge could compile-improve it...

Archimedes,7800,SamCoupe and QL are the most significant misses...sad.gif

Hello Pytzamarama, could you explain a little bit more, why you think that FuseX is better than SpeXtrum? I also made a emulator list in a German spoken Xbox forum where I am moderating the emulator section and also thought that SpeXtrum would be the best emulator for playing Spectrum games. It came after FuseX, was made from the scratch and had a nice GUI. Also the few games I tested with it were running well, so I expected if someone like Carcharius put so much efforts in the project, even though there is already FuseX he would do it because he was unhappy with FuseX and wants to surpass it.
But unlike me, you seem to be a fan of the Spectrum, I just ran SpeXtrum to test it a little and make some screenshots for my emulator list (even though I love the emulators on my Xbox I guess you can't be fan of every system wink.gif). So if you say that deathx88 and me were wrong, I believe you and will change that in my list. But if you don't mind, I would like to add a small explanation about this in the list and make a very short comparison of FuseX and SpeXtrum. Could you help us out here a little, I am sure deathx88 is also always open to suggestions and corrections to his list smile.gif

Congratulations for the list!
I did not want to cause mess..
I tend to prefer Fusex because it is based on Fuse which I respect a lot and also has potentials to evolve (fuse itself evolves, the fusex sources are available)
I did not spot any incompatibilities between the two...
Just for the record,Spextrum came first, fusex afterwards...

I am glad you like the list, took me quite a while to make all those screenshots, but well, I had so much fun with all those emulators so I also felt that somehow I have to give something back smile.gif

You didin't cause a mess at all, I was hoping that finally I could get some more detailed information about one of those emulators for a system that I don't know myself very well and this way I could improve my list. You probably didn't see it as you maybe don't understand German, but in the introduction I say that I am always open for additions as probably no one can be an expert of every system and emulator. I know a lot about for example the NES and the PC-Engine as I own these systems myself so I can say in the short description in my list that the NES emulator also supports the FDS games (the Famicom Disc Drive that came out in Japan) or that the new PCE emulator also supports games for the Arcade Card and Cosmic Fantasy 2 has some problems when you enter the first dungeon.
I think information like these are very valuable for people who want to emulate their favorite system on the Xbox and are looking for the best emulator. But I can't provide such detailed information for every single emulator so I am always happy when I can learn something from a fan of I system that I don't know so much about smile.gif

You are absolutely right that an open source project like Fuse deserves respect, without open source software we would have seen almost no emulator on the Xbox at all! I was just so excited about SpeXtrum as this one was unlike all the other emulators no port wink.gif

Oh and all right, I just checked their release dates again and indeed FuseX came later, guess I must have had something in my eyes when I checked that out  ph34r.gif

One thing which is Fusex's big advantage is the RZX playback.
RZX are little files that contain recorded gameplay.
In other words u watch your favourite games played to the end.
Compatibility wise r both in good shape biggrin.gif

Is the N64 emulator full speed? Not worth it if it isn't.

I have a question regarding the mame128 emulator. Do I have to upgrade my RAM to 128 to enjoy it fully? Do a lot of games work well on 64mb?

I've been around the scene for just a little over a year and there's been almost no updates on emulators for the XBox since I've been here.  I've seen a couple with the awesome SNES emu, and there is a new CPS3 arcade emulator which to everyone's suprise showed up about 2 months ago.  Some guy said he was making a BBC Micro emulator (and said he wasn't going to bail on it) before he bailed on it.

If I'm not mistaken, the XBox forums were at the top on this site until a few weeks ago.  Now the XBox 360 forums are at the top.

Anything is possible, but I wouldn't hold your breath for any new emulators or updates.  This scene really seems to have died in the last month or two.
