Do I have to upgrade my RAM to 128 to enjoy it fully? Do a lot of games work well on 64mb?

No and Yes (very few games "require" 128mb)

i for one would rather have, say, ten people producing this emu than a 1000
producing the kinda crap ZX81 comes out with...... im in my 30's and grew up
with the 'systems' he ports to the psp, and while they may have fond memories
of my childhood they're still rubbish, yet he gets nothing but praise for churning out ports of the most basic systems ever.

I thought there was no DC emulator for the X-Box, so what's the deal with the SoftVMU-X?

Correct.
There is no DC emulator for the Xbox

SoftVMU-X is an emulator which plays VMU games. Several titles released for the Dreamcast included little mini games etc that you could play on the VMU's.

The VMU memory cards for the Dreamcast had a small Dpad and A, B buttons for these mini games.

I know what the VMU is, but that just struck me odd is all. I have an idea using this that I am going to try out.

Oh yeah I keep meaning to ask and keep forgetting to, but out of curiousity, what image type would this thing run anyway? .mem lol. But seriously what type and what program would you use to create it.
I don't want to know where to get it I just want to know the name?

Apart from a select few everything is on xbins, what emulators are you talking about?

What about the commodore plus 4, I've been searching around and I see no xbox emulator for it, but it also doesn't list it as not emulated either.  I've got a bunch of roms for this thing and I'd like to run them on my xbox, is it known as something else or something?  What is the emulator for it if any?

I've never heard of the plus 4.  There is a commodore PET, commodore VIC-20 and a commodore 64 emulator.  Might I suggest trial and error?  Only 3 emus to choose from, so it shouldn't be too much work for you to determine if you can play them.

I hope someone will someday port the Acorn BBC Micro emulator - BeebEm to the Xbox. Even the PSP has a port of BeebEm blink.gif

We were close to it a few months ago where someone here had said he'd started work and had good results, this was just before Xmas. Progress was good and he said he was going to release a BETA shortly before buggering off, so maybe it was just one big wind up. Such a shame as this computer is something I never really experienced, of course I could go on Ebay and buy myself one, but I like to have everything on the Xbox nowadays as it saves me space.

There are quite a few games I'd like to try out like Elite, Exile and Revs. I guess it's just not a popular enough platform to warrant any attention from coders.

There's no Philips CD-I emulator, that should be added to the list.
