I know, one of the top questions:
"How can I play Conker's Bad Fur Day?"
I still having problems with this game.
It sometimes starts, sometimes not.
Sometimes I didn't change the settings, sometimes I tried different settings.
Sometimes I can play, sometimes it crashes.
WTF...?
I just wanna play this great game...please give me the best settings for this game.
(And: Yes, I searched many topics, but I just found the compatibility list. The comment there is, that it works fine...?!)
Well I think the problem with *some* of the listings in the compatibility list, is that some people have pretty low standards when it comes to a game "working fine". Some entries are exactly true, but I've seen a lot of overly optimistic entries.
I have been playing OOT, and I also agree with some of the other posters that there is a memory leak going on. IMO, it seems like the VM isn't properly flushing unused assets, when they aren't being used. Each new area you load, the total mb of memory goes down. When you get to 1mb you will crash when bringing up the dash, or sometimes when saving. I have no idea if that is correct. I am not a programmer, it's just my guess.
Here is my question. And I'm sure it's been answered before, but I can't find it.
Why can't you just set your VM settings to 64 or 128mb of disk memory? Wouldn't being able to have a chunk of memory with the whole game loaded up work?
It just seems weird that the pcsxbox can play a 600mb cd image from the HDD, but for some reason no one seems to ever run surreal with really high VM settings. I know pcsxbox does not use VM, but I think it proves the HDD is fast enough to access things when they are needed.
