Surreal64 Xxx Beta 3 Bugs/issues

well, all three plugins freeze when loading a savestate on OoT. 5.6 freezes in the menu (when you select load state-> state 1), 5.1 and 5.31 get into the game actually, but then freeze (the music still runs, tho). Are there any specific settings I should use?

PS: can someone tell me, why UltraHLE ALWAYS freezes when it's started? It did it with all Surreal emus, but i never found out why.

But still: thank you for your efforts.

ultrahle works only with some games (mario64, mario kart, zelda OOT), it has less compatibility but more performance, as for your states problems, I only tested it by doing a save state, playing 2 minutes then loading state and it worked like a charm.

While this technically isn't a bug/issue, I'd rather post here instead of creating a new thread since it is a one reply question:  what are the odds of smb support being added on in a later version of Surreal64 XXX?

I think (!) he's talking about SMB sharing, i think it's "streaming" from a computer.

Sorry, I should have elaborated more smile.gif  But yeah, the full term I believe is Samba.  There's full support in XBMC too, if you are brave enough to find it smile.gif  But SMB support would kick ass...

How about 720p (1280x720) and/or 1080i (1920x1080) resolution support in Surreal or is it too much for the Xbox to handle or would it be fine with a 128MB Xbox?

Thanks GogoAckman & Freakdave for this update. Your continuted work is much appreciated by many!

My question is about Dr. Mario. I noticed the "can't see pills" problem is still there, even with all three plugin versions. I know you said 5.31 will not work with PJ64. Does anyone know if PJ64 is the emulator for the PC that will play Dr. Mario with 5.31? I tried to locate the plugin and try for myself with that version, but had no luck finding Rice 5.31. I could have sworn that 5.31 was supposed to have fixed that game along with 3 others if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks again!  rolleyes.gif

Horscht: you may notice that zelda oot runs better with 1964, rice 5.60 and basic audio as settings.  That way you can load/save states no problem, I already tried it.  Just be careful since you should have about 2 mb free during most of the game, it is difficult to get into the ingame menu with 1 mb free.  So when playing you should have the debug on to see whether you can actually save at that point, or to wait until the memory frees up.
GogoAckman, Freakdave: Excellent release you guys.
I noticed the todo.txt file there, and I was wondering whether you would accept some more suggestions.  I'd like to see a few things, some may be not even possible so let's keep an open mind:
Video related:
1080i or 420p support. resizable screen.  Rice video latest versions. PJ64 1.6 sources (possible?)
Audio:
surround sound/dolby enhancement if not already active. (possible?)
Misc:
crash detection; a way for surreal to detect when a game has crashed and reboots the xbox.  And another great way to prevent crashes; have a small ini file called crash.ini, which will make records of games that have loaded, and whether they were properly unloaded..  a simple way is to add a value of 0 to each game once the game is run, and a value of 1 once the game was unloaded.  Then from the menu, when trying to run a game which has previously crashed, have a "warning: this game crashed upon last try: are you sure you'd like to load it" message.
Have settings which are known to be optimized per game updated with every release, or as a seperate file.  That way people will have the best settings available to them, resulting in less problems overall.

for 1080i or 420p, I can t do it as I don t have HDTV to test, resizable screen is already on todo list and upgrade sources, yes it would be great but the doors are closed.
audio -> maybe, as I said directx thing is not really something I know
crash detection -> why not but how, I must find tongue.gif .

EDIT : as for all the bugs, I hope the version I released is good, I have some problems compiling it, all is fine but sometimes the xbe is 1.0Mb and sometimes 1.39Mb, I have many strange compile bugs (all logical is okay but it crashes or do some strange things, it works good in debug and not in release mode), I corrected romlist bug (it may result by a crash) but it will be for next time.
