Horscht: you may notice that zelda oot runs better with 1964, rice 5.60 and basic audio as settings. That way you can load/save states no problem, I already tried it. Just be careful since you should have about 2 mb free during most of the game, it is difficult to get into the ingame menu with 1 mb free. So when playing you should have the debug on to see whether you can actually save at that point, or to wait until the memory frees up.
GogoAckman, Freakdave: Excellent release you guys.
I noticed the todo.txt file there, and I was wondering whether you would accept some more suggestions. I'd like to see a few things, some may be not even possible so let's keep an open mind:
Video related:
1080i or 420p support. resizable screen. Rice video latest versions. PJ64 1.6 sources (possible?)
Audio:
surround sound/dolby enhancement if not already active. (possible?)
Misc:
crash detection; a way for surreal to detect when a game has crashed and reboots the xbox. And another great way to prevent crashes; have a small ini file called crash.ini, which will make records of games that have loaded, and whether they were properly unloaded.. a simple way is to add a value of 0 to each game once the game is run, and a value of 1 once the game was unloaded. Then from the menu, when trying to run a game which has previously crashed, have a "warning: this game crashed upon last try: are you sure you'd like to load it" message.
Have settings which are known to be optimized per game updated with every release, or as a seperate file. That way people will have the best settings available to them, resulting in less problems overall.
