K - I'm going to take a shot at this
GETTING YOUR EMUS TO BOOT UP IN EVOX
1st - transfer the evox ini to you comp
2nd - open it using notepad. (Right click, open with, thne select notepad).
3rd - Scroll down the screen until you see a section like this
QUOTE
Section "Launch Menu"
{
Section "Games"
{
AutoAddItem "e:\games\"
AutoAddItem "f:\games\"
SortAll
}
Section "Emulators"
{
AutoAddItem "e:\emulators\"
AutoAddItem "f:\emulators\"
SortAll
}
Section "Apps"
{
AutoAddItem "e:\apps\"
AutoAddItem "f:\apps\"
SortAll
Each section refers to menu items available in the "Launch" menu when you launch evox. Dont Panic if you don't have all these. I have added my own Emulator section as I like to keep things organized. See those (AutoAddItem "e:\apps\" & AutoAddItem "e:\apps\") under each section? That tells evox where to look once you select one of those sections. Missing parts of this? just copy and paste it into your ini.
I guess the point I'm trying to make here is that it really doesn't matter if you use E or F (I would recommend only using these 2), or what the hell you name your folders.
Using the quote from above as an example
If you wanted your emus to launch by pressing Apps when EVOX boots up, then you would make an apps folder in e:\apps or f:\apps. Same goes for any of the other sections.
If you want to launch your emus by pressing "HAMBURGLAR" in the launch menu in evox, with a folder called "GRIMACE" on either your E or F drive simply add a section or change one of the ones above.
QUOTE
Section "HAMBURGLAR"
{
AutoAddItem "f:\GRIMACE\"
AutoAddItem "e:\GRIMACE\"
SortAll
4 - Now for every emu you get your grubby hands on, make a folder for each on your comp. When you unzipped em if they were they already in a folder? Thats is fine. Name the folder whatever you heck you want. I usually put a folder named "roms" within your new emu folder. Put you roms in there.
Note: some emu's will come with their own roms folder, some wont, some may come with a different named folder for their roms. None of this matters, as you can get the emu to point to whatever folder you want it to.
EG
Unzipped a SNES emu, and found it didnt have its own folder.
Created a "Snes" folder on comp
Within that folder I have created have a "Roms" folder (may have to create it) Their should also be a default.xbe file within my SNES folder, along with various other files. As i said this will vary from emu to emu, but they all should have a default.xbe within the folder you created for/it came in.
Put the SNES roms into you new roms folder within the SNES folder.
FTP the SNES folder with your SNES emu/roms in it back onto your xbox. Where you ask? See above sections. If you want to launch from using "Games", I would either have to put my SNES folder within a "Games" folder on the E or F drive.
