Issues With Magic Box Converter

I have a magic box converter so I can use a saturn pad for my fighting games and others and it works flawlessly....except if I try to use a PS2 controller.  

  On my unmodded xbox, PS2 controllers work fine, but on my modded xbox it powers up then after a few seconds it reboots the system and this continues untill i unplug the ps2 pad.  

   If the magic box is pluged in by itself with no pad it does not reset, only if a ps2 pad is plugged in.  Is there anything I can do to correct this issue?
