Sure enough crystal support is included. Though they run extremely slow on a standard system even with the vmm. It's very difficult to tell if he has just included this driver or all of the .90 changes.

PS - yoshihiro is working on a mameox update aswell. He has already successfully merged the .90 src, and is doing some finish up's. I requested a feature that i think you xbox mame fans out there will find handy, so hopefully it will be out soon wink.gif

i use my xbox in a real arcade machine and it makes it look so pimp!  mameox would look soo much better without the blur! beerchug.gif

Is there even any point to having MAME .90 on Xbox?

Serious question, as I have no clue what has been added/changed in it, but other updates seem be an overwhelming amount of stuff that doesn't run a Xbox.

I am a sucker for new features, but could really do without the core updates, unless they actually bring stuff that runs well.

It supports new games, fixes old games that waren't working before, and sometimes makes games run faster.

ummmmm

yeah

<===== Not new

I fully understand what a new version of MAME does in general. My question was about .90 specifically.

A new version of MAME very RARELY makes anything run faster. It is more often than not, the opposite.

There is no point to updating to .90 if there is nothing added that actually runs well on Xbox, so the question is... Did .90 actually add anything that the Xbox can run?

I haven't gone through all of the .90 roms for ovious reasons.

I do get the usual out of memory errors, missing files, same thing as the other older versions.  Most of the .90 roms does work.  I would just overwrite the older versions with the newer ones.  Did gain some additional roms and still have the old ones that hasn't been overwritten. All of the older roms still works on the .90 updates that I could see.  So I really don't see what I got to loose.  Besides, I got a 250 Gig that can handle it.   beerchug.gif

There's been alot of sega stuff added since the last mameox. Im unsure as to the workings on previous drivers (situations like the midway drivers), so i dont know if this will be a preformance increase or decrease.

I love MAME, but it has got to be the biggest pain in the ass ever to keep current with. smile.gif

If nothing really takes a hit, then YAY!!!

New version... Can't wait. I am really excited about the non-working to backup filter. biggrin.gif
