Back in 1994, I played a "virtual reality" Doom and Wolfenstein.

Sega World in Vegas had headsets and gloves with Doom and Wolfenstein.

mess would rock as it does many including 7800 but i heard the guy originally that was willing to do it dumped it

What can I say? I got a bit bored!

I do still have a tinker with the code from time to time though. But the version I'm working on is horribly out of date. It really needs starting over.

I might look again at it sometime in the future, got some other things I want to do first though.

Yeah you should start on that again... When you first said you were porting it I was over the moon, but then you said you couldn't be bothered...
I will give you a hug if you port it.

I don't know if there's a PC emulator for N-Gage, but I'm pretty sure that no one with the skill to make or port an N-Gage emulator for Xbox is even remotely interested.

I hear ya there.. I tried my other emulators like Atari 2600 for the first time the other day. There's always hope for new coders out there,... but one never knows.

QUOTE (lantus @ Dec 3 2004, 12:13 AM)
while these forums can get a bit trying in terms of the morons around - its not the morons fault - nor Surreal

people get bored , people move on and find new interests/hobbies - two years ago i was really excited about xbox development..now theres barely any interest..especially once you realise your pratically coding on windows enviroment anyway (which is what i do as a regular job)

ive actually become more of an end user..im actually starting to play games (Halo 2 mainly) and play with emulators which i didnt bother with otherwise

Does that mean we will get one last newly compiled Surreal or does it mean it will never come?

It's sad to see but all good things come to an end.

oDD is doing the work.

lantus told us that months ago.  at this point, his end is done.
and didn't lantus say that a compiled Surreal v2 was oDD's decision?  why are people asking lantus, then?

I think I agree with the controversial statement that the Xbox Emulation scene is nearing the end of its usefulness.  Do I need another update to a NES emulator?  Or a Genesis emulator?  When most games are playable, and at full speed, I'm happy enough.  I think most people feel the same way, hence the interest on the N64 emulator Surreal; the last great, untamed console system.  (I think.)

And what would the scene look forward to if a full speed, full compatibility N64 emulator on this console generation did come out?  As it is, I only check on the emulation forum section once in a blue moon now anyway.
