Weekly Rom Challenge!

Ok, Today marks the start of the weekly rom challenge. Every Thursday Ill post a new challenge. All  YOU have to do is try to beat the rom in the fastest time, with the highest score possible. Then post a screenshot in this thread! This is new to me and Im open to suggestions, etc. This is to bring some excitement, fun and comraderie to the forum. Winners are the Weekly ROM CHALLENGE CHAMPIONS for the week.

This Weeks Challenge: Ill start simple with something most people have. We're looking for the highest score in Super Mario Bros. Part 1, not 2, 3, 4 or anything else. Its NES's Super Mario bros. Beat this and post your high score. Due date is next Wednesday, November 3rd.
 

 Needless to say, cheating is a no-no, I guess we'll go honor system on that one.
Also, anyone who wants to complain about my Game choice, please realize this: This is the first challenge. We need a game most people have. As time goes on, part of the challenge will be getting to the game and playing it. Also realize that I am now taking suggestions for the Next weekly Challenge. Please PM these to me. Id like to keep this thread purely for this weeks CHALLENGE. If you need help figuring out how to get screenshots, PLease use the search button. If anyone has a quick link, posting one would be nice. Nagmine has offered to host pics, just email them to him at [email protected], subject: WeeklyRomChallenge.

Sorry naGmine, the g in your sig looks Sish to me. Anyway, This thread is starting to fill up with crap. G Mail jealousy posts and filter comments are unwanted. I really want to try to keep this thing on target, and I need your help to do it.

FluX2K(Make sure I spelled that right), I like your idea but I have some probs with it, so Ive decided that the Winner will have the biggest impact on the decision of the next challenge. The few caveats will be if A) the roms been used recently, or cool.gif the same person keeps winning.

AkumAPRIME: I like the idea, and i think people will contend enough that i wont have the need to pin it. If they dont contend enough, then pinning it would be pointless ; )

i think the same thing... but i didnt even have a filter on? when ever i take a screenshot with fceultra it looks like that... is that just me? cause it dosnt look like that on my tv.

Anyways Im getting my super mario feel back and am doing better now smile.gif cant wait to see everyones final scores. good thing i have a few days cause im a bit distracted by doau  tongue.gif

Yes, The emu on any system IS allowed, and even the NES version, if you still  can get it to werk. The assumption is of course that the majority of us are using the boX, but PCs cool too.

ok, stupid question, but how do you post a pic? I dont see any upload options here. Damn, that's a pretty high score thraxen! I only got 54,000+ on my first run
