pinheader method works fine for both 1.6's.  The difference between a 1.6 and 1.6b are just the RAM chips i think, board layout is identical. <

You can use any install method you'd like for a 1.6 (b or not) as long as the LPC has been rebuilt. As the gentleman before me has already said, the only difference between the two boards is the change of memory brand and timing (1.6b has Hynix instead of samsung).

might I suggest 2 things that might make install a hell of a lot faster? 1.) buy a smartXX LPC rebuild board. this will save you the effort of snipping and fitting each small wire and saves ultimatly time and strain. 2.) If ya don't want to solder, simply get the new S.P. ICE adapter! Holds through ANY situation you can imagine and you risk none of the risks soldering could potentially yield. <
