You can run unsigned code without a modchip, but you need to softmod your Xbox (see tsop flashing/softmodding tutorials). Some people swear by this but If you flash it wrong you've rooted your Xbox.
Then if you try to get on Live it WILL band you. Live doesn't detect presence of a modchip but rather presence of a modified bios file.
If you want live then get a modchip that can be disabled and then to be safe set everything up on your E: or if you upgrade the HDD, your F: |
No jumping gun here Mr. Morien. My box has UDE2, and I never had to flashed anything. First time made I hotswapped and inserted with fatXplorer the nkpatcher method, then later I did the Pbl-Metoo method. Still though, he wants a perfect way without a mod chip. Live will ruin audio hack, and thats way old, but as well, I assume that Live will ruin UDE2 sooner or later as well.
I answered his question they way I did because he said no modchip. Running unsigned code still means he would have to do an exploit, no buts which aren't always going to be safe. Modchips are more safer for live, but at the same time, they run a risk to be flagged.
In truth the most sure way of not getting Live ban is to have a virgin xbox and play off of that which I plan to do because the mods and stuff that are on my box are worth a new one 5 fold or more. Not to mention all the time I spent on making skins for it and what not.
