Hmm I've bought the Beretta 92fs, it works perfectly in the calibration screen of Mameox but blows in any of the games.  In operation wolf it's like it treats 1/3 of the screen as the entire range of the gun, so if you move to the top right of the actual screen it moves to roughly around the middle.
Terminator 2 the cross hair is off the screen somewhere despite the in built terminator 2 calibration screen appearing to recognise it moving around.
I think the gun must send some weird range numbers to the mameox control system. I notice it switches from positive to negative numbers somewhere roughly around the middle of the screen.
If anyone has got any ideas let me know please.
I'm using a Grundig Xentia 72cm tv I believe it's 100hz but I've tried it in with the xbox outputting normal PAL, PAL60 and NTSCM (TV can display these modes), same thing occurs in all of them - calibration screen works perfectly, games barely work at all.  I think maybe the Mameox control system doesn't currently pay any heed to the calibration screen?

I use a 24" 4:3 PAL TV, my XBox Beretta 92FS XBox Lightgun behaves exactly as you guys described it, i tried setting the dash to 50Hz instead of 60Hz with some improvements in Op Wolf but not anyway near playable.

The Beretta work suberbly in HOT3 and Starsky & Hutch, in the sniper game (can´t remember it´s name   ) you have to turn up brightnes so high it hurts looks like crap.

I bought the berettas only for my Arcade cabinet hoping to add lightgun support  :grr: Thinking about buying the Mad Cats lightguns, can anyone confirm it´s working with MameDox?

Great thread BTW keepit alive!

I have 2 of these Xbox Light Gun Boss Battle - Green. I can play House of the dead III and duck hunt fine, but I really want to play area 51. I am very new to the light gun scene, but I want to play it really bad. Can you guys answer me some quick questions? ive been skimming and see if my info is correct.

1 - Area 51 and most emu's with chds wont work on a xbox even with the memory upgrade.

2 - my lightguns wont work with this http://www.lik-sang....roducts_id=2154 so I can connect my light gun to my computer to play it on there.

3 - lightguns wont work on any computer  screen point blank. This is the laptop I am buying. will it work on this? (http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/inspn_9300?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn)

so If my info is correct, What do I have to do to play area 51 period. btw what video card would i need in my computer to run it perfectly (ok kind of off topic but my old computer ran mame like poo... would 64 run it? 128? or do I have to get the 256? or is it more ram than video card?)

Is there a way to use my xbox lightguns hooked up to my laptop hooked up to my tv? or do i have to buy new lightguns and if so which ones? Im so confused. Please let me know what I should do. Thanks.

I have a MII gun I just bought and am running Mameox. I go into the Lightgun calibration screen and the gun works -- at least it the target shows up, I can move it around and such.

However, I go into any game -- like ALIEN3 or TERMINATOR 2 -- and there's nothing...the target seems to be "fixed", tailing off to the left hand side. I can't move it at all.

Is there something I'm supposed to configure within the games to get the gun to work, or does it mean it's just not compatable?

Any help would be appreciated. BTW the gun works fine in HOUSE OF THE DEAD and seems to be OK in the NES and SNES emulators too.

Terminator 2 is not a gun game. I think its a joystick game.
Cant help you with Alien3. Try another gun game (if you have any). Theres a list around here somewhere.

I would love to get light gun support in the playstation emulator. does the PC version now support the ACT labs guns.

Has anyone got a complete list of xbox games, emulators and their roms that use/support the light gun.

i am not sure but i think these are new light gun games for the xbox
http://www.digitalleisure.com/gamesalg.html

Is there a realistic Sniper rifle out there, i have been told there was one but is was banned because it was to realistic, i saw one picture (lost the link though), it was camoflaged and had a tripod with a big scope.

Thanks

thought I add my experiences
Ereal Games G1 light gun
sony 42we655 42" LCD hdtv (using component cables)

House of Dead 3 - works good, very accurate if calibrated properly

haven't had a chance to try out emus yet, but if anyone wants to know if this gun works with a paticular title, let me know, I'll try it out.

Hi ppl!

Just wanted to add my experience in here - and hopefully get a little help! :-)

My hardware:

Two Mad Catz Blaster guns (same problem with both guns)
Modded xbox
Sony KV-32 FX20 TV (50 hz, supports both PAL and NTSC)

I have the same problem in all games (HOTD, Silent Scope, Mameox)

After calibrating the guns, it works perfectly on approx 2/3 (left side) of the screen. Every time i point at the last 1/3, it either stops there, or moves all the way to the left.

I think i narrowed the problem down to beeing a pal/ntsc/refresh rate issue, as the behaviour seems to change when i force the xbox output to eg. PAL-60 or NTSC.

I've googled the web high and low for answers - but theres very limited info on this out there.

Any ideas what to do next?

Btw, a small tip i found helpful : When calibrating your gun, position it about 20-30 inches from the screen, and shoot the target in the middle. When you're supposed to shoot the target on the top left side, be sure to hold the gun in the same position and just point to that target before shooting. Do not move the gun.

Cheers.

Did you set the 'zapper port' in the configuration menu?

I don't see this option(set the zapper port)...there is configure light gun ... and from that i can calibrate ; go to target screen ; set the in game crossair ; set the color of the crossair ... I'm able to calibrate the light gun from one port or an other ... but in the game , it doesn't work...

it's the pelican silent scope sniper
