Damn, Chillin. I bought that gun about a year ago and then I realized there was no Light gun support. It's been collecting dust this whole time. Guess I should update my emulators and give it a shot. uh no pun intended.

Okokok, so only the Mad Catz blaster, the Logic 3 X99L and the XBOX lightgun (no manufacturer listed)  are working in MAMEoX_0.84.b3_updated.  Do you guys with this guns tested the games Terminator 2, duck hunt and operation wolf ? Do they work ? smile.gif

Terminator 2 is in fact not a lightgun game. In the arcade it used a gun mounted to the cab, and worked like a joystick, so getting it to work with a lightgun is difficult. Lightgun support in MAMEoX is working, but still very lacking. The crosshairs will not line up where you are actually going to be shooting, so your best bet is to turn them off. You also need to be sure you are using 84b3 updated, and not just 84b3. ( copied from another topic).

Dont know if this is the right place to post but....
Does anyone know if there is a version of Mad dog McCree out there (for any system, besides genisis's animation version) that works.... with a gun.

IMO this is the best gun game ever. Being that its the only gun game i've seen that has real people as aposed to animated!

m@gnus, there was a version of Mad dog McCree for pc about three years ago and if I remember well you didn't have to install anything it was playing off the cd.

What I want to ask is can you have two lightguns work simultaneously connected on the xbox?

It depends!
2 guns will work in House of the dead, if u pick a two player game.
In emulators, you have to define what port the gun is going to be used on, and theres no option for using two zapper ports.

This thread caught my eye.  Being a light gun fan, myself, I had to pipe up.

A quick Google showed me...

a) Gemini Game GGE307 XBOX™ Light Gun - $25.95

Gemini Gun

cool.gif INNOVATION TECHNOLOGIES Xbox Light Gun - $29.88

Innovation Lightgun

c)  XBox Sharp Shooter 2 Arcade Light Gun - $16 quid

Sharp Shooter

Just a quick resource for you guys out there....

Anyway...I've got an NTSC HDTV (32'' CRT TV)...curious if any of you guys have any experience with light guns on sets like this.

Choice 'c' above seems like it has the HDTV end of it covered from the description.  I just don't want to be the guinea pig.

BTW...has anyone played the Point Blank games on the PCSXbox / Playstation 1 emulator?  Now those games kick some major ass.  If those games are playable with Lightgun functionality intact, I may have to exercise my purchasing power on an Xbox lightgun...

Lemme know whatcha think...

I've got a sharp shooter, but in the UK so couldn't tell you if it will work, works ok in mameox though.

There is no lightgun support in pcsxbox, but point blank works in mame at the expense of sound.

Sadly the DVD version is only playable with a DVD remote which sucks to say the least.

It means you cannot use a Light Gun if you want to play Mad Dog on your Xbox, only your Xbox remote will work.

The only version of Mad Dog that has support for Light Gun is the PC one.

I don't own the Beretta personally but I've heard nothing but good feedback from people who have used it on FCEUltra and the updated MAMEox. Forget about the Gunner Mark II or any other cheap chinese Light Gun.

I for one am waiting for the updated G1 Light Gun which will hopefully support all Xbox emulators (not that the current one doesn't, I dunno, testings had to be done when I asked the team) and more importantly, according to the developers... Silent Scope !  :P
