Light Gun Compatibility Thread
« on: September 09, 2004, 07:17:00 PM »

What to post:
1. Your light-gun model.
2. Your TV specs. If it's 50/100 Hz and if  HDTV is used.
3. With which emulators you managed to calibrate and use your gun succesfully.
4. Wich emulators it didn't work on and what was the problem.
(Emulators with Lightgun support: MAMEoX, FCEultra, SMSplus ,xSNES9x.)

If I missed some tell me.

I hope this will help people that love lighgun games and want to know what to buy and developers to make their emulators more compatible.

I used the MameoX with added lightgun compatibility, didn't work.

Silent Scope Complete didn't work either.I recommend you stay away from the Typhoon lightgun but maybe it's just mine that's faulty.

Mad Catz blaster works with my MAME, Toshiba 51H83 HDTV, still trying to get it to work with the xSNES9x. I've heard it's suppose to work so I'll keep trying.

I opened my Typhoon gun today and there it was... solder hell.Everywhere.
Everything was obviously soldered by hand and the guy who did it was too incompetent.
The trigger which is button A had was shorted.Ground was soldered together with the yellow wire (not sure if that was wrong).
The "light" diode that was shorted as well.

Anyway I'm trying to fix it by some desoldering now, doesn't seem likely that it will work but you never know.

standard 60hz NTSC TV using High Definition Pack

using Mad Catz Blaster

has worked in everything so far... Silent Scope Complete, Starsky and Hutch,  HOD3, Snes9x, FCEUltra, SMSplus, etc..

its a little flakey tho.. it seems to have some dead spots on my tv where it doesnt aim, but that could be my gun messin up...

I`m using a M9 100Hz Lighgun model... excelente lightgun btw B)  in a 60Hz normal NTSC TV and works very well in HOTD3 and Silent Scope games, and work good in Mameox (Operation Wolf rocks) in all gun shooting I tested, althoug  skipping in black areas...I need help to learn how setup my calibration and reloading in Lethal Enforcers II :(
Dont tested yet in others emulators but I can tell it will work wonders by the gun quality...

TEAC 21' Pureflat screen, unknown Hz.
Modded Halo Xbox, with latest Evox
Boss Battle gun, Arcade games and HOTD3.
None of them work!!!  ohmy.gif , can only shoot at 3/4 of the screen.

Anyway, I heard that Boss battle gun is a good gun, may be I dont have the luck to use it....  laugh.gif ,

Cheers
