Maybe I should have said I thought it ruined the combat. In the previous games you had to put the mages in the back row and try to keep them alive. You always had to keep your white mage alive or you lost most of your healing power until you could ressurrect them. There is no strategy in later FF games, sorry. Any one can heal, anyone can use offensive magic.... it's utterly easy, IMO.

[edit] BTW, I wasn't referring to FF3 alone when I made that statement. I was talking about all the games after FF2 (US) as a group. So, no, it's not a poor excuse. You would have more strategy with true classes. Period.

I think is a very good game.

It's definitively one of my top three favorites games in the Snes.

In my opinion, I see FF3 as the best final fantasy ever created. Story, characters, gameplay, graphics/sound (for that time), it had everything. No other FF could top this gem.

You should try Final Fantasy Tactics, it has 9 different classes, maybe more. The fighting is like shinning force in a way. Pretty good game.
