I think the version uploaded to xbins will make the lightgun work for everyone.

If someone has issues with it, finds a bug, or have any sugestion, just post here or PM me and I will try to give an answer.

I have a question about the light guns, I have the XGunner Mark II and it works mostly fine, except it does this weird thing where after I calibrate it, it cant aim anywhere on the right 1/5 side of the screen.

When I am calibrating in mame, and i aim over there it gives me cordinates just fine, but after calibration it cant aim on the right side, this same probably happens for me on all games, silent scope, duckhunt, everything. I have tried calibration in all different games and I have the same result everytime, works perfect, except the right side of the screen. Anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

They are brand new guns 2 days old and they were doing this right out of the box so I didnt think that was the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Is there anyone who tried the beretta on the newest Mame?
I want to buy it because it look really sweet but I want to know if it works on mame first.

EDIT:

I bought the Beretta 92FS from Thrustmaster and i can confirm it works very well with MAMEoX .84 b3 updated. Only problem is that my screen keeps flashing white when i pull the trigger. Anyone know a solution for this?

Hi there people....
Ive had all sorts of grief trying to get my Joytech Sharp Shooter to work in the new MAMEOX.

First off I couldnt get the thing to calibrate at all let alone work in any games (and yes, I am using the newest updated version).
Now, I can get the calibration bit done no problem but the gun is not working in the actual games. The crosshair seems stuck in the middle of the screen even though in calibration its perfect.....and when I shoot the shot is where the crosshair is, it doesnt move.

I did figure a few things out along the way which may be of some use to some of you having similar problems:

The Xbox has to be set from the MSDashboard to normal 4:3 mode, not widescreen.

My RGB scart has to be plugged directly into the back of the TV and not through any switcher selector boxes.

The Xbox has to be put into NTSC mode or the MAME lightgun calibration screen is a complete mess....even though I have a PAL TV and PAL Xbox (I live in the UK).

Avalaunch has to have its region autoswitching thingy disabled or it throws it into the wrong mode (see above).

I hope this helps at least someone becuase I have been tearing my hair out over this for 2 days now. Its very frustrating having the calibration work perfectly only to see it all go up the wall when I load a ROM (and yes, I have tried virtually all the lightgun ROMS). Its almost as if when MAMEOX loads a ROM its changing the screenmode again which (see above) causes the calibration to go out.
If anyone has any suggestions here they would be GREATLY appreciated.

Cheers....

Ok sounds good can I ask is the gun in port 1.

also to check you have the lightgun update version it should say gun detected in port x when calibrating where x is the number.

try operation beast busters, point blank or operation wolf - I have these working with my sharp shooter

when finished calibrating press b the button on the gun (black by trigger) or on base of handle (red)

I run MXM width UDE from ldots 1.6 package.

All sounds fine I'd suggest trying a different TV if you can just to make sure.

I've used RGB and also standard RCA supplied with the xbox on  a 14" TV and also a 28" Sony TV.

Not widescreen and not 100Hz.

Good luck

OK I got it sorted....... plugged the xbox into my 50hz 4:3 TV and it works a treat.
Having loads of fun with Zero Point!!!

Shame Area 51 doesnt work though but I guess the Xbox just doesnt have enough power to run those CHD games.

Thanks for all your help guys, much appreciated.

Cheers
