ontopic: nes was my favorite. i had a 2600, and a c64 when i was very young. but the nes was the first system i truely loved, and would save money forever just to buy one game *video rental stores were my best friends* the nes pretty much blew everything else away. you can see that by the short nintendo history posted on this thread. none the less, nintendo has lost its console edge, and i hope they dont end up the same way as sega. if nintendos new hardware isnt revolutionary, then they might not make another console *super gba xp 3000 will be out though.* nintendo will always "pwn" the handheld market. *my very first video game ever was a bomb sweeper game&watch from nintendo*

gameboys, just throw them in wherever. handhelds and consoles cant compare to each other. its like comparing apples and oranges, theyre both fruits, but nothing alike.

with better game support then them apeared.

Lynx = good system but bad game support
GameGear = Good system but game support started lacking the good titles that the gameboy had.

while nintendo is desperatly trying to invent new ways of portable gaming
the competition is almost ready to launch their handhelds.

then again.. Nintendo does always come out with a huge library of games for their handhelds..
and playing portable Tomb Raider & Metal Gear Solid is hardly what i call a good time.

I enjoyed GE much more than PD.  I also thought Conker's Bad Fur Day was a pretty average platformer... without the crude humor it would have been little known, IMO.  I loved Banjo Kazooie, but later games like Banjo Tooie and DK became too much of a collect-a-thon to be enjoyable.   I think Rare has been sliding for while now.
