FBA-XXX emulates the arcade version and is currently the best way to play SFA3 on the Xbox.

Kawa-X also emulates the CPS-2 (Capcom) arcade hardware very well

playing a 2D fighting game on PSX..... simply ridiculous laugh.gif

That's a pretty moronic thing to say considering that the PSX version of SFA3 is far superior to the arcade original and bettered only by the Dreamcast version.

And how exactly is playing a 2D fighting games on a PSX any more ridiculous than playing it on an Xbox?  dry.gif

The PSX version doesn't have a true Dramatic Battle mode and it has missing frames, plus loading times, all of which aren't issues in the arcade version, which is my favourite.

Also, I didn't know they released it on Saturn, I thought they gave up on Saturn way before Alpha 3.

Oh the good old days, when I had Marvel Super Heroes and SFA2 on my lowly Saturn.

Now I just have FBA  biggrin.gif

Wow, glad to see I wasn't the only one who loved SFA 3 (although it looks like Manto really, really loved it).

So Manto, how do you play SFA 3 these days?  Or does nothing approach the arcade experience?  I basically take it for granted that a console port of these fighting games is going to be the same as the arcade version.  I've been looking at Shoryuken.com and Evo2k.com lately so suddenly I've kind of got an itch to become the unstoppable fighting gamer I know I could have been if I hadn't lost focus with distractions (like school).  Sadly, I no longer own a Playstation, but it looks like that version sucked anyway.  But I do have a Dreamcast (but I think I'd hate to use that controller for a fighting game).  I need to get one of those arcade sticks.

I'm glad they're releasing Street Fighter Collection for the Xbox soon, but it only has Street Fighter II Hyper Anniversary Edition  and Street Fighter III: Third Strike, which kind of saddens me considering they could have tossed on Street Fighter Alpha 1-3, ALL the various Street Fighter II variations, Street Fighter the Movie just cause it's terrible and Street Fighter EX 1-3 cause I've never played it.

But man, I needs me some Street Fighter Alpha 3 lovin.

Returning an insult with the "subtle", "I *would* return it but..." method is, arguably, even more pathetic.

Let's keep it real people.

MAMEoXv84b3 is my new SFA3 emulator of choice.

FBA-XXX seems a *tad* slower than KAWA-X (see the Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition title screen for a comparison)

KAWA-X was great, but when I had people over playing on my arcade, the L, R, and Black buttons were hit occasionally during the heat of battle.  Not cool  sad.gif

MAMEoXv84b3 runs SFA3 the best, when sound is set to 22,000Khz, frameskipping off, frame throttling off, and graphic filters set to none and linear.

SFA3 is the game of my arcade whenever I have a group of friends over.

I played the game to death on the PSX, myself. I didn't wanna shell out the cash for the Saturn version, and the DC controller is just awful for fighters. I simply got too used to the SNES/PSX style controller for Street Fighter. So sue me.
I generally have been using FBA-XXX to play it, although I miss the larger character roster. I love being able to go through the entire character list and beat my friends no matter whom I choose.

the fba version plays all my cps2 and new neogeo titles (ms 4 and 5)....but
the other ms very slow....

thats why i use kawa-x for those.

what i cant really play is vampire 2...(darkstalkers 2)...i have the vhunt2.zip file
first it said it was incoplete...now i have another and says romset is fine...and nothing happens.

can anyone recommend something for both issues?

btw Sfa3 arcade is my favorite...but not the best street fighter game...thats marvel vs capcom 2.

but im tired of street fighter...thats why IM ENJOYING GUILTY GEAR XX RELOAD. if

To get Vampire Hunter 2 working you have to get the file called vhunt2.zip, this is the parent ROM which is encrypted and doesn't work, then get vhunt2r1.zip and use that (you still need the parent file), and it works fine.
