Retail Bios Problem
« on: February 04, 2020, 05:43:00 AM »

I've had my Xenium installed for sometime now but after buying XboxLive i've decided to setup the Retail bios on the launch Menu...never really had the need to before?!

Ok, so i've added the TSOP but when i launch it the Xbox turns off n goes back to the Xenium OS?!

I tried locking the HardDrive which enabled me to boot the Retail BIOS ONCE!

Since then i've turned it off n booted my EvoX M7 Bios n that worked fine...

Now i'm back to trying the Retail but even tho Xenium OS sez my HD is locked it still shuts off n goes back to OS?

Any ideas?

Cheers

All the times I've personally witness this problem it was dues to:

A: grounding LFRAME instead of soldering it to d0 on the chip
B: An eeprom "issue" (If the xenium OS recognizes your eeprom to be from an xbox version that isn't the version you have... solution here is to reflash your eeprom until it correctly recognizes the version...)

There are possibly other factors leading to this as well, such as a shot onboard BIOS... In any case, if you can't resolve your issue, you can always download a copy of the correct retail bios for your xbox and flash it to the chip it self (1.6 is 5838). Then you can play live just fine :)

ok, so i can download the "original_5838.zip" from the usual places and flash it to my chip and load it like i would any other bios i.e. evox and xlive should be good to go and not get banned? btw i do have the orginal hd and not an upgrade so that is not a problem.

some more background on my problem. when i try to do a tsop on to the chip it does like spike4real's problem. i have the s.p. ice kit installed and i had to scrape some green off the motherboard to make a good connection so i might have damaged somthing but i thought i was careful. i guess my eeprom is ok? i did what you said and tried the tsop thing again with no luck. i guess my onboard bios is shot. can that be reflashed? anyway i guess that is not a big deal since i have downloaded and installed the orginal bios from the usual places and it appears to be working. also i have read your post on the mee2+ with live blocking. i loaded it and could not see an option to turn it on or off or is it just buildt in and working all the time? thanks again for your replies and if you say the 5838 bios will let me on live then i will not bother you anymore with this problem anyway wink.gif
