If he can't see the xos or if it just isn't loading, he can't flash the bios.  He may be able to have someone walk him thru it blindly tho.

He doesn't have a normal PAL tv to flash it with?  He only has HDTV's in his house? Geez, that guy's rich.

I was thinking about getting the Sp.I.C.E. adapter next month for my 1.6 PAL Xbox, so this thread stuck out from the rest. I'm only using RGB-connections on my consoles, does this mean I should skip a Xenium-chip? I'm not really sure I understand the scope of the bug, is it something that renders the chip absolutely useless on PAL consoles? My TV can handle NTSC, is this something that would help?

The Xenium has to load its OS in order for you to be able to flash a BIOS to it (and therefore access all the things a chip allows you). The problem is that with PAL consoles there is no display AT ALL via RGB  and so therefore the chip is useless until TeamXodus release a fix (Which will never happen by the look of things).

You can use the component cable as a one off to flash the chip and set it all up, but why bother, there are other chips where you don't have to mess about and I'd go for one of those instead (X3)

I am also a 1.6 Pal user and agree its annoying with no video, but you can set up the bios with the standard cable, then switch cables as it only affects the Xenium OS its not a problem once you boot up a bios. You can use the the quick boot options for different bios banks then you don't need to see the screen.

I have several bios on quick boot so I can chose either Avalaunch, Evox, XBMC or the standard dashboard.

I can't say I have any experience with other chips as I am a newbie, but I like the Xeniums tidy installation (no need for extra switches to be added).

They say it will be fixed in the next release which is cool, but I find it's not really much of a problem as I don't really need the OS once I setup the bios.

Xodus has been saying it will be fixed in the "next release" since the 1.6 came out.  If it hasn't been fixed by now it won't be.
