Quick Solder Method On Xenium Ice - Recieve Error
« on: December 27, 2004, 11:31:00 AM »

I have attempted to install my Xenium Ice on my Xbox version 1.6b.  First I rebuilt my LPC port as pictured using 5 30 AWG wrap wires.  I then used the Quick solder method and think that I soldered all the points correctly.  The final solder point was from the "d0" point on the 1.6 motherboard to the "d0" on the Xenium,   which seems to be OK.

When I power my XBOX on it flashes Red and Green on the XBOX LED.  I can see that my Xenium is also on since the Red Led is on.

I checked my solder points several times and to my eye they all look fine.

Any ideas as to what could have gone wrong or any helpful tips would be excellent.

Thanks in advance,

Re-check all your solder points and make sure that you are rebuilding the LPC correctly and you have the correct point for the L-Frame, when you switch it on the xenium should flash through a series of colours not just stay red.

I checked all points again and again.  I followed instructions explicitly and still getting FRAG.  I removed chip to see if XBOX works at all and recieve the FRAG without the Xenium in place.

Beware all of the xenium installed in an XBOX 1.6b.

Thanks for the help.

If you recieve a frag without the chip there, then you may have damaged a track such as the LFrame on the motherboard, check for popped solder pads or via points.

lol...did the same thing rebuilding the LPC...on the shortest run (the one labeled with a red line on one of the guides), I accidentally went one LPC hole to the left...took a few minutes to figure that one out, but aside from the clock bug (see my thread about power loss) this chip works nicely now...
