Current emulator version: 19

Please note that some games that didn't work previously may now work.  For example,  Battle Arena Toshinden used to run, but the fighters were invisible with v13.  Now in v17, using the 1.6 core, the characters are visible and the game runs very well.  So simply because a game is listed as not working here, it may actually work now in versions 17 or later.

A big thanks goes out to ressurectionx, Retroplay, and sotu for testing out so many games!!

RULES

- When posting a game entry you must put the name of the game, whatever you have to say next to it, and you must highlight it in the appropriate color. If you don't do this i will probably won't add the game
- List the full title of the game when posting an entry, don't shorten the title to "MGS:VRM" when you should put "metal gear solid: vr missions" i'm sure you get the point, and i'm sure i could probably figure it out but this would make things hell of alot easier for me.
- When posting an entry be as specific as possible, don't just say works fine, give alittle more detail than that

Some Notes

-I have a small request for anyone who will submit compatibility listings. Please use pcsxbox version 13, if you list a game not using version 13 then state which version you are using.
-Also please try to be specific when submitting compatibility reports. Just saying "x game works" at this point will not provide enough information for other users, and thus, i will not add it as an entry.
-Finally, please state what other options you have enabled to get a certain game to run more smoothly, or at all. changing one setting can have a dramatic effect on a particular game's performance.

To Fix the resident Evil Games and Dino Crisis, set the Throttle button to unmapped.

To have the battle Menus in Final Fantasy IX, unmap the throttle button.

Final Fantasy Orgins does indeed work. There is more than one version of the game. Try another version if yours is acting up.

Thrill Kill final does work on v2 with the bios. I don't think it was tested fully the first time

-First shutoff the cdda
-Then just press the psx X+square buttons at the beginning where you get a black screen after the image has finished loading
-Also, you will get black screens after fighting, but just push a button on the d-pad and the screen shows up
-Runs better at 32 bit graphics (I can't remember the specific option under the video options because my xbox isn't here at the moment, so what I just said could be right or wrong, but just switch something that says 16 to 32) -elnino2783

To get Final Fantasy 7 to show the cursor over enemies and make it run better, turn frameskip OFF and old frameskip ON -reaper527

To play another disc on the multidisc games, at the end of the disc when it asks you to switch the disc, right click and go to the very last option load new disc image. Now just select the second disc and it should continue off.

To have wild arms 2 running correctly, you must:
- graphic fixes: the 5 first are enabled, others are disabled
- cpu fixes: just enable the last option: <something i forgot> combat fix -CACAMOU

For those who don't know how to unmap the throttle
press "X" on the game you wish to unmap the throttle for -> go to configure controller -> controller 1 -> change joypad mappings -> change UI mappings -> where it says fast forward/throttle just change it to "Nothing"

To get games like Vagrant Story, Silent Hill, and lots of other games to work, make sure you set the filter to NONE
other games are ff7, blastermaster and strider 2, there are more games too.
if certain games don't work then turn the filters off, you can turn them back on when in the game - thanks to Foe-Hammer for more detail

Additional tips from me for resident evil 3 posted by cupcake4u - if the game still has slowdown during cutscenes then hold down the throttle to get everything normal, it will be faster though. During the final battle when the time starts to count down you may have to disable the inuyasha battle fix, for me the game wouldn't go out of the cut scene.

Action Man: Operation Extreme (BIN/CUE) - Works with standard BIOS settings.  FMV looks and sounds good.  Gameplay is great.  There are no words to describe the awesomeness of Action Man.  Download it and play it now.  Beat the desert level (about an hour worth of play).  (v18) -ressurectionx

Activision Classic Games - (BIN/CUE) - Works with standard BIOS settings.  Menu has some slowdown problems in actions and music.  Game also acts flakey when you quit a game to get back out to the menu.  Games themselves play good though.  The sound is off on the games though.... trust me.  I've been around long enough to have played Seaquest on the Atari 2600.  There is something just not satisfying about shooting down a submarine with the garbage sound butchering going on in this game.  Just get a 2600 emulator if you need to play these games.  (v18) -ressurectionx

Resident Evil 3 Nemesis - needs to be run in Bios with old frame skipping turned on, frame limit turned off and the Inu Yasha Battle Fix enabled in CPU fixes. The battle fix really throws off the speed of the game so you need to compensate with the other settings. Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX - (BIN/CUE) - Is playable in BIOS mode.  CDDA does not work at all, but you don't have to disable it because it's not scratchy… it's just non-existant.  Use old frameskipping, Lazy Screen Updates, turn off Frameskipping, Core version 1.4, GPU 1.15.  If you don't use Core 1.4 there are major graphics glitches.  Runs pretty smooth with these settings though.  HLE doesn't seem to make any difference. Maximum Force - (BIN/CUE) - This game plays with standard BIOS settings but has major graphical glitches.  This game plays just like Area 51 and for me has the exact same graphics problems that Area 51 had.  It is split right down the middle of the screen and the action that should be on the right is on the left and vice versa.  Tried a few graphics fixes and core versions, but couldn't fix this problem.  (v18) -ressurectionx
MDK - (BIN/CUE) - Works with standard BIOS settings.  Music skips quite a bit during play which can get pretty annoying.   Do the usual Frameskip off use old frameskipping and it should smooth out the play a bit.  Played through first level.  (v18) -ressurectionx

Resident Evil 3 Nemesis - [/b]needs to be run in Bios with old frame skipping turned on, frame limit turned off and the Inu Yasha Battle Fix enabled in CPU fixes. The battle fix really throws off the speed of the game so you need to compensate with the other settings. I tested this for about 5 min only so there is still a possibility of problems arising, but for now this launches and plays fine. Don't forget this is a Resident Evil game, so remember to unmap the Throttle button

War Games Defcon 1 run in 1.6 core with old frameskip on and frameskip off. also turn use new save states off. there are lots of problems with the save states, they work with the 1.6 version but you shouldn't rely on the too much since they won't always load back up. the in game play seems to be perfect, but for almost all the levels the game won't load when you beat it, it's just a black screen. the only way to get around this is to use passwords or the gameshark level select code and go into the options screen and select a level from there. then when you start the game there'll be a black screen, wait a couple minutes and you should hear the buzzer to start the level and the objectives screen will load up -deathx88

I am not sure if the Throttle Button needs to be unmapped, but I did it anyway

Wipeout I - (BIN/CUE) - Works with standard BIOS settings.  You have to use the Inuyasha fix to slow it down to playable speed and then it plays pretty well.  Music does its fair amount of skipping, but the game is perfectly playable now.  Played through one race.  (v18) -ressurectionx

Critical Depth works in BIOS mode.  The music can get slow and/or choppy so it's best to disable CDDA.  Once that is done the game runs great.

Rogue Trip is exactly the same.

Also, Twisted Metal is listed on the list as having missing menus.  You can see the menus if you turn on "Use Old Frame Skipping".

In Final Fantasy Tactics you can save, but you won't be able to load anything because it just locks up. That's using v11 and the settings in the list above  

EDIT: To clarify a bit more I'll add the following.

HLE Mode: This is the only real playable mode (unless you like watching a slideshow). The game runs almost 100% perfect in this mode with very minor sound glitches and the openeing FMV being somewhat slow. However in-game plays almost exactly like the original. The only thing not working though, is saving/loading. Saving a state works fine, but you won't be able to load them at all. Using the memory card in this mode does not work.

BIOS Mode: You can save/load states and use the memory card function in BIOS mode. However, in order to do so, you must turn on the Inu Yasha Sengoku fix in the CPU settings. Doing so will also cause the game to run extemely slow; rendering it unplayable. The music sounds horrible and the FPS drop below 50%. Also, whenever there is a "Guest" character present in a battle, the game will hang when it's the Guest's turn to act (unless the Sengoku fix is turned on). However this doesn't happen in HLE mode.

So to sum it up, you have two options.

1. Play the game without ever being able to save.

or

2. Play the game at less than 50% of the game's speed with horrible audio.

I'd mark this game as unplayable for the moment, or at least till someone is able to fix this.

It's a real pitty seeing how this is my favorite PSX game.

BTW, is Pcsxbox a dead project? The last version was like over 6-7 months ago

IT has Dragon Warrior VII listed as working, but I have messed with pretty much every setting and still can't get the menus to show up.  I get to the blue screen to start a new game, but the menu is missing, although I can see it flash for a split second every once in a while.  Anyone know how to get it to work?

Hey uhh BTW am I the only one having problem saving games in Xenogears? I choose save game and get a "save failed please try again" message in the little box, I've never had this issue saving my other games, what gives?

The compatibility list isn't very accurate. When the list was started, I suspect many people rushed the results. It seems many games confirmed working are only played 5 secs beyond the opening FMV. Misleading indeed.

I'm having the same problems, as said by my prior post. FFT was THE title for the PSX, and one of the few with severe problems in PCSXbox.

I loved many titles for the PSX, and wish someone would keep up the work on the project. I appreciate Xport's efforts for getting so many games working, but I can't be the only one who would rather have an updated release than a new console emulator.

Another case of confirmation only consisting of the first 5 seconds. I get the FMV to work, but the opening menu never shows up or responds to any button presses.

i would rather have an updated version, the xbox 2 is going to be awhile before it comes out, and even when it does come out it will take awhile before it can be hacked
so why not have another version of the pcsxbox

im not sure if this will work
this was used for saving it
it was said to use the save states on a part when the screen wasn't moving
the best place was said when reading a rumor at the bar
im hoping that this will also help it load the game
