If you get a black screen while loading a CD 32 just wait a little while, some games take a while to load (for example Fire Force).

Toofast: Mapping those buttons is indeed a pain in the arse...I just configured Joy 1 and Joy 2 for controller 1 and disabled all emulation specific controls. Only keyboard and menu screen left in.

Sounds like you are either using V2 or you are selecting more than 2mb of chipram. You can`t have more than 2mb of chip ram AND fast ram.

The A1200 had 2mb of chip ram not fast ram

Sorry, my fault. Its been quite a while since I used the real thing. wink.gif

But the problem remains: To put it in the workbench way-> 7,something (after boot) graphics mem and 0 other mem and I do use V3 and the problem should be fixed:
" - Fixed bug with display of FastRAM.  1MB was displayed as 0MB and vice-versa."

Any sugestions?

Btw. I have chosen KICK3.1 and WB3.1 is on my HDF image.

One thing: This Emulator is amazing!!!!

If you have selected 8mb chip ram, which it sounds like you have if wb reports 7 megs free, you can`t have any fast ram. If you want fast ram you must select 2mb or less chip ram.

If you are planning to use WB a lot its much faster to have 2 chip and 1 fast than 8 chip. Unfortunatly my WB setup eats up all the fast and only leaves 1 meg chip, not enough for WHDload.

How can I reset the game settings (you start a game and have to set up the WinUAEX. after this it automatically loads with this settings). I can't figure it out.

Is Picasso enabled? I can't get the Picasso package to install no matter what.

Chip RAM has exactly the same speed as fast RAM in JIT modes. It is not possible and also quite pointless to emulate slow Chip RAM speed in JIT modes..

CD32 problems: some CD32 games won't work if CD audio tracks are ripped.

I had played *all* superfrog with this emu, and just for report this is my contribute for debug:

Level 2, stage 3, level code: 984448
With some config does'nt work at all (guru), with others one graphic was hardly corrupted.

Level 4, all stages, level codes:467464, 818234, 182394, 298383
No music and sound fx, only crappy sounds, tryed *A LOT* of configs.

Finally, can you put a thumbnail of the screen when state is saved? If so, will be more easy to find the state to load.

Thank again for this great, amazing work  beerchug.gif

You're right. Selecting 2mb will finally give me the 1mb fast ram, which is by far not enought to get anything decent to run. A fix for this would be number one on my update-wish-list - if it is possible to fix.

XPort's already stated that more Fast RAM will be selectable in v4. happy.gif

I tried your level codes and have no problems whatsoever except a minor glitch with the level 2, stage 3 loader (The bats chasing froggy has red blinking wings).
All the level 4 stages worked flawless.
Btw I tried it out with the non-trained Crystal release.
My config:

Kickstart 2.0
CPU: 68000
CPU Speed: Real
CPU Compatible: Yes
Cycle Exact: No
Video Chipset: Full ECS
Video Mode: PAL
JIT Cache Size: 0 MB
Chipmem Size: 2MB
Fastmem Size: 1 MB
Fast Copper: Yes

The rest is default settings.

Here is a small compatabillity list for CD 32 games. Popped in a few and played them for a few minutes. Haven't fiddled around with the settings yet. Apart from the sometimes jerky CDDA the compatabillity is rather high.

Amiga CD32 compatability list original games:
(default CD32 config)

NOTE: Toofast comments only apply on ISO's. The rest is tested from original CD's, so should work as ISO image also.
There are a lot of crappy images floating on the net, beware of that!!

Xport:
With some CD 32 games a mouse is standard used. Some games do not like this and have a strange mouse behavior. For example Diggers. You can't use the "controller" when the mouse is inserted, so please make an option to disable the mouse or an option to choose between a mouse or a joypad.

re: option to remove filename extension - maybe

re: persistent boot disk after removal in-game - will investigate

re: picasso - you're not going to be able to get picasso w/o any graphics memory - which is not currently selectable

re: choose between mouse and joypad - you can already do this from the game configuration screen

Also - to all the people thanking me - it's very much appreciated, but you should really be thanking tonioni since he is the real genius behind WinUAE.  I'm just standing on the shoulders of giants.

Great - now if RTG and BSD would work too, i would be the happiest man on earth.

And a small suggestion, in the Utilities - Save Game Management if u have alot of saves and you want to delete all files from a certain game, once you have deleted a file the "cursor" jumps back up to the top - that way you have to scroll down again and again if you want to delete several files. Instead the cursor should jump down to the next file in the list after delete.
I found this after accidently creating an savestate when pressing around wildly on the pad to get past the logo in Brian-the-Lion. But starting a CD32 makes the emu load automatically state1 and hang the emulator, so maybe savestates should be disabled for CD32.

As for CD32 Compatibility:
Microcosm: seems to work - albeit lots of skipping in the game - probably caused by my scratched original disk.
Brain-the-Lion: There doesnt seem to be a way to get past the blue morphing Brian Logo - it just morphs around then reappears - endless.
Flink: Doesnt work - always complains about not enough memory (needs more than 1MB FastMem)
Those are the only CD32 originals i still have becasue i sold my CD32 several years ago. (awwww)

*Update*
Seems WinUAEX hangs everytime when AmigaOS is started with more than 2MB Chipmem.
