re: fine grain cpu speed - Some games/demos won't work correctly unless this value is modified.  For example, the demo Andromeda_-_Nexus7_(1294_AgA) will just stay on the swirling vortex the entire time if your CPU speed is "Max" or "Real".  If you change the value to "93%" instead, then it will work pretty well.

re: all the chipram vs fastram comments.  I was under the impression that chipmem was more important than fastmem, but I guess I'm mistaken.  Regardless, I don't think you'll run into any more memory barriers with the currently available options.  WHDLoad stuff recognizes the extra chipmem and uses it.  I'll add more fastram in v4.

michoko - re: jerky starfields, etc.  I believe what kimota said is correct.

re: flickerfilter level - ok

re: BINs.  If the BIN file is equally divisible by 2048, then it will probably work fine as it is.  Open up the BIN file in a hex-editor and jump to location 0x8000.  If you see the text "CD32" or "CDTV" on that line then it should work fine.

re: sometimes loading and sometimes not - I think you failed to read the "Important Notes" section.

Would be interesting to know what magic you worked to get the extra memory implemented...

Chip RAM is mainly used for graphics (hence it is otherwise known as Graphics Mem) whereas Fast RAM is more versatile. Some WHDLoad games work with extra Chip RAM but some don't and require Fast (or Other) RAM to work. Glad to hear the option will be available in v4, guess I'll wait til then to sort out my game configs. The CD32 support should keep me busy in the meantime. happy.gif

CHIP RAM is shared memory that is accessible by the microprocessor chip and by the Amiga's custom chips. Because it is shared, the application must lock any memory before it can change it, to prevent other applications updating it at the same time. As soon as the update is complete, the application must immediately release the locked memory, otherwise other applications will be kept waiting unnecessarily. However, no such locking is required to read memory, and even locked memory can still be read in share mode. Chip RAM is used for the Amiga OS, graphics, sounds, and anything else which must be shared by the various processing chips. Because the amount of chip RAM is limited, the size depending on the Custom Chipset being used, applications should be written to use Fast RAM whenever possible and only use Chip RAM if there is no free Fast RAM, or when the data must be shared. Programs such as Deluxe Paint tend to use large amounts of Chip RAM.

FAST RAM is accessible only by the microprocessor chip and cannot be accessed by any of the Custom Chips, and the size is only limited by the addressing range of the microprocessor chip. When an application requests some Fast RAM, the requested size is reserved exclusively for that program, so it does not need to be locked before it can be updated. Fast RAM is used for applications or data that does not need to be shared. Furthermore Fast RAM, as the name implies, is faster than Chip RAM, or is it? .Electronically, Fast RAM is actually no faster than Chip RAM, but the requirement for Chip RAM to be locked and unlocked when it is updated inevitably uses more CPU cycles and therefore the process is slightly slower, but reading Chip RAM is almost as fast, but it does first have to check to ensure there is no exclusive lock on the memory. Some machines such as the A1200 are sold with no Fast RAM (only Chip RAM), and considerable performance improvements can be experienced by adding even a couple of megabytes of Fast RAM.

I haven't tried winuaex yet because all the amiga games I ever played work on uaex fine.

Is the network enabled? I used to have a program that could reroute serial port traffic through ethernet and back to serial at the other end. Ideal for playing a bit of 2 player stunt car racer.

Relax works fine...Hmm.....

Can't understand how its seeing the disks but won't use them in SMB....argh :-)

Btw, thanks for the mega update Xport....

Now sorted it....Read another readme (the new one is missing the Network config help bit) and it said try all forms of SMB share entry...That was the problem..

I have lots of cd32 iso's on my pc and tried them on v3 but they all fail to work..I use the default settings btw.
It starts loading but than it just hangs there blink.gif

If it hangs on loading try this way:In the main-game-configuration screen REMOVE your iso and start without it.
After a while the Amiga -CD32-Logo should appear. Then "Exit Game", and re-insert the iso. Then start again! Thiis sounds funny, but it worked for me. Tested with Superfrog and Gloom.
