Getting Surreal 64 To Work With Arcade Sticks

I have a pair of arcade sticks as my third and fourth controllers.  While Surreal 64 allows me to map the D-PAD (which is the equivalent of arcade stick) on X-Box controller as the analog stick on N64, no matter what I do, I can not get 3rd and 4th players to work with Arcade sticks.  

Is there anyway I can play games like Mario Kart, Diddy Kong, Mario Party with an arcade stick?
