Sorry dude, the Xbox is no where near powerful enough to run Saturn games.  There isn't even a good PC emulator out for it yet.  GiriGiri works ok, but you need a 3Gig+ setup.

Tony

are you insane?

the xbox is EASILY capable of emulating a saturn...  this is strictly an issue of software, not hardware.

Yeah the xbox let along the pc should be able to handle saturn games. I don't see whats the difficulty on developing a saturn emulator, there probably isn't enough interest.

1 - not enough knowledge about the saturn
2 - not enough interest
3 - difficult internal architecture to figure out

But hey who cares, atleast we have like 200 Nes emu's for PC alone laugh.gif

That saturn emu is really being ported to dc http://ljsdcdev.sunsite.dk/ , if it's even remotely usable on dc than it would work much faster on xbox, that is if it's compatible with any games, I don't know because I've never used or read anything about the pc version.

I doubt that Saturn emulator will ever run at a decent speed on the Dreamcast.  There were very few dev houses that could really get both the Saturn CPUs to sing in harmony (Saturn, Treasure, and Capcom are a few that come to mind) but those are pretty big power-houses.  The little guys are kind of left out in the cold, as there's not many good docs out there.

In short, don't hold your breath (for DC or Xbox).  Nobody would rather see this than me, but I've given up all hope.

I hate to burst your bubble man but all the linux version of Yabause can do is show a bios screen. They havent even started trying to get games working. I have no clue at all why people would port a useless emulator to dreamcast

everything has to start somewhere. Just the fact that it boots the bios screen (and .0.0.6 can boot the splash animation) is a proof of concept. Don't knock it yet, its still a WIP.

Oh, yeah, my point was things can change in a very short amount of time.  Everyone always acted like there would never be a dreamcast emulator that actually worked, and there never was.  Then finally 4 months ago a couple devs got together and within 2-3months made a dreamcast emu that works almost perfectly in it's alpha version and plays retail games at full speed no less.  People always say everything emulation wise will never happen, but sometimes things happen and some crazy devs prove everybody wrong.
