Rom Disc ?
« on: June 26, 2004, 11:51:00 AM »

Ok, so I searched and I searched and I searched some more and came up ith nothing. My question is: Is it possible to have a disc with just the roms on it in order to preserve hard drive space ? i.e. I would have all the emulators on the Xbox and run the actual rom from the disc (DVD/CDRW) instead of transfering over all the roms to the hard drive.
Could someone point me in the right direction ? ;)  ;)

yes you can

im assuming you know how to make it into an xiso and everything

just keep the roms on the cd\dvd

i really can't say on how to do it for most emulators, all ive tried it on was xsnes9x and it works great, but you can do it on almost every emulator

So all I need to do would be to change the .ini file for the rom path and burn the xiso ?

burn the xiso to the dvd your using
pop it in
depending on which emulator your using
for xsnes9x- you don't have to change any .ini , just press start and go to dvd browser and play off the dvd

like i said i haven't tried it for any of xports or anyone elses so i don't know where you would go to play them off the dvd

this is a guess for me, and my xbox isn't turned on right now so its a guess

in the select game menu
press Y until you get back to the main screen

im guessing select the D: drive and your roms should be there

you can have that show up my changing the default directory in the general settings to start there when you load up the emulator
