Using Any Amount Of Eums
« on: June 25, 2004, 06:35:00 AM »

Hey all,

I did some searching but couldn't find what i was looking for.

I want to use a bunch of diff EMUs but some of the files seem to be the same for the diff EUMs how can i fix this.

Do I have to change something or can you only use so many EMUs.
Does this make sense?

Can I keep the roms and EMUs in there each folder on the harddrive.

Also you any one tell me the size of each drive letter on the xbox.

Thanks

SINnier

Hey all,
hello

I did some searching but couldn't find what i was looking for.
that can happen

I want to use a bunch of diff EMUs but some of the files seem to be the same for the diff EUMs how can i fix this.
unzip/unrar your emu's into different dirs, dont put the xbe directly into your emulator dir.

Do I have to change something or can you only use so many EMUs.

again i say "make different dirs for your emu like f:\emulators\xsnes9x\ and f:\emulators\neogenesis\
dont throw it all just in f:\emulators\

Can I keep the roms and EMUs in there each folder on the harddrive.
Yes you can, and inside the emu's made by Xport you can specify the rom dir for each emu,
other emu's might require you to edit the ini file so the emu knows where to find the roms

Also you any one tell me the size of each drive letter on the xbox.
each drive letter is only one letter so that would be around 1byte for each letter,
but thats probably not what you meant,
if you are talking about HDD space then it really depends on what kind of HDD you have installed.

Thanks
sure

About the Xbox hard drive letters,
I'm using the original Harddrive that came with the Xbox.

I have:
c:
d: CD-Rom
e:
f:
x:
y:

I think, i'm at work and can't remember for sure.
So are any of these drive letters fake? "unusable"
How can I find out how much space is on each drive letter?

thanks

Before i answer all your questions i have some of my own first.

1 - is your xbox modded?

2 - did you change the HDD to a bigger one?

3 - what Dashboard did you install?

there are ways

i have evox and in certain skins it displays all the memory for me
also
you could go into boxplorer if you have it and press start and to the right of it you can see all the available memory

and no there are no "fake" drives there

usually
the c: has your dashboard and stuff on there
E:has your save games and maybe screenshots if you have any
F:has all of your main space, all your games should go here
x: Y: z: are the cache folders

sinnier-

You'll be wanting a larger HDD most likely.  You can put the emus and roms in F:, but you aren't going to have much space.  I would plunk in a 40 GB HDD (at least) and then you'll be set for emulation and roms.

To give you an idea, a complete set of arcade (MAME) roms can chew up 4 GBs all by itself.

Ya,

I was thinking on up grading the hard drive but i'm pretty picky on the games i play so. I don't plan on putting every rom on.

Plus can i run the roms from a cd?
