Can anyone get this to run well on MameOX? Sorry, I'm new to this and MK2 is unplayable for me. Any tips on running this game any better?

options on getting MK2 running smoothly options from best to worse.

1 - buy arcade cabinet (very awesome)
2 - wait for the midway collections Xbox disc or whatever its called (Contains MK2)
3 - get memory upgrade for xbox
4 - use Mame-X (should run a little better or so i've heard)
5 - Run Sega 32X version of MK2
6 - Run Snes version of MK2
7 - Run Genesis version of MK2 <--(Dont do this)

I have to agree with VampX.  The Genesis version looked like it was sitting in the sun for weeks. All faded.  and the voices....well......Bleah.

However...it looked great on the Nomad.  Only get it if you plan to use it on the Nomad.

The Nomad made all games look good.

Oh, and to cure that purpleness, eat shitake next time, Not the ones out in the yard.

Exactly! even the so called superior 32X version looked bland..

however i did play some genesis mk2 just now and i have to say,
somehow it looked much purpeler(?) when i was younger.

must have been my old Tv back then..

however after replaying it i have to adjust my opinion, the game is not all purplish
but it still is a mediocre port with most of the good stuff removed to save space
on what could have been an awesome port had they just gone with a 32mbit
cartridge instead of a 24mbit.

The only thing that stands out on this port is that the fighters apear to be taller
then their Snes counterparts.

but who cares about that when you're missing about 90% of the voices and intro pics.

yeah the snes version and other do look better
but i guess i really can't tell much because i grew up on the genesis version as that was my favorite console and i always played that
and for that i guess i don't like the snes version that much because i was always hooked on the genesis so i don't play the snes version on my xbox so i really can't tell if the one for the genesis looks bad or not

i thought the snes version of MK2 was the better version.  it was almost an exact arcade port, plus the controller was good for it too

I also grew up a genesis fanboy, however i was sad when mk2 was released
cause my friends had the Snes version and it looked so much better..

mk2 genesis just felt.. hollow.. after seeing and playing the snes version..

Well atleast we had the extra rayden fatality

Thanks for the help guys, MameX works much better with MK2. In regards to ports, I actually think the 32X version of MK2 is better than the SNES version. The characters are larger and more detailed in the 32X version.

yeaaa a extra rayden fatality

but the best fatality was the one when kung lao (the hat guy) took his hat and sliced then all the down there whole body, and then they split in two and you saw all there insides

i always thought that was cool back then  B)

There is another option, which is to use an earlier version of MameoX. Version 71.2 (I think) runs it at fullspeed, albeit with certain sound glitches. And hey, though the Genesis port was inferior to the SNES port, it wasn't really bad at all.
