X-arcade Vs Pelican Real Arcade Stick
« on: June 24, 2004, 04:14:00 AM »

X-Arcade (Solo) sells for $100, but Pelican Real Arcade Stick sells for $50, a significant difference.  I saw the Pelican Real Arcade Stick at GameStop, and the controls felt solid; they may have used genuine components.  I haven't seen X-Arcade anywhere, but the reviews seem very good.  Does the quality of X-Arcade justify the extra $50 in price?

I used to have the double X-arcade and it was solid as a rock.  They used arcade quality joysticks and buttons, as well as mounting it all on a hunk of particle board with rubber feet.  I could move that thing off the table while playing if I tried.

Haven't used the Pelican, but it looks just as solid by eyeballing it.  Maybe buy it somewhere that has a money-back guarantee and see if you like it (BB might do this for 7 days.)  If it doesn't fit the bill, then buy the X-arcade and have no regrets.
