I load my game, press the right thumb stick to bring the menu, go to the cheats menu and add my gamegenie codes.  Then it says I have to reset the game for the cheats to activate....
 
Now how the heck do you reset the game without having to exit the game?  
After I exit the game to restart it, I go to select the cheats I added and they are no longer there.   So what  am I doing wrong?

Help me out please, Thank you.

i don't know why they would disappear

add the code
turn the code ON
go to exit game
re-enter the game

that should be right

I've tried that several times now.  Is there anything else I should do?

Has anyone else had this problem or a similar one?

go to utilites and go to save manegment
find the game your looking for that you saved a cheat for
ex. contra

there should be a
contra.key
contra.stg
contra.cht

look for the .cht in any of your games because thats the code if thats not there then must of deleted it or didn't save it right, if it is there then you must be looking wrong

well thank you for your suggestion.  Turns out I had changed the default save dir in the ini file.  For some reason cheats dont work nor saves if you change the original save dir, so I just changed it back to the default and now its working.
