N00b Question About Rom Folders
« on: June 21, 2004, 11:12:00 AM »

Is there a central location or post that lists what each emulator uses as it's default ROM folder (address)?  Some have ini files that I can edit, but some do not and don't have any readme type files that shipped with the emu.

I would search the forum but the function seems to be disabled.  Also read the n00b guides but didn't see this info anywhere...

I also wanted to know this. For example, i want to have one central Arcade ROM folder and have all my Emus (FBAx, MAMEoX, Kawa-X, etc.) go and look in that one central folder for roms. I hope that this will help me and you zot23!

Not at home, so not 100% sure but believe it is Hugo-X (the Turbographix one anyway, I think it's Hugo-X.)

The rom dir on that emu can be easily set in the ini,
and all (latest) Xport emu's allow you to change the rom dir in the menu when you start the emu.

All those emu's except Kawa-X can have their rompath(s) changed to point to one or more central arcade rom dir/s.

OK, I'll look around tonight but I didn't see a way to change the ROM dir in Hugo-X.  All it does is boot and tell me that it cannot find any games (there are no UI options that I see and no ini file.)
