No Sound In Hugo V10.0 With Iso Images
« on: June 20, 2004, 07:30:00 AM »

I get sound with some games, but others like Dracula-X and Beyond Shadowgate to name a few are silent.  Actually, Drac-X is weird because I get sound when the Konami logo appears, but the entire intro is dead silent.  Drac-X is in bin/cue format, while Shadowgate is iso/mp3/cue format.  Does anyone know why certain games won't get sound and what needs to be done to correct the problem?

Anyone?  I also just grabbed a copy of Drac-X in iso/mp3/cue format and that also has no sound.   Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Getting Turbo Duo games to work froma  cd is tricky. The most important thing is that:

1)You have the original bin/cue files
2)From there you NEED to make sure that the audio tracks are changed to the .wav format
3)Change the cue file to reflect the changes to the audio tracks
4)Burn with Alcohol

Rips on the internet of Turbo games are notiriously bad because:

1: The dickheads ripping them know shit about the format
2: #1 is pretty much the only reason.

You can't just use any software OR hardware to properly rip, and illegally send SCDs all over the internet (which I think is kind of justice in itself, but that's me).  You need a GOOD CDRecorder, and one of a couple of kinds of software (actually, most of them now are good, but back in the day, you were stuck with only two that could do the job right).
The SCD format is particularly picky, and in short, if you're not making BIN/CUE files from the original SCD, chances are excellent you'll have some type of issue with it.
