its being looked into
sad note though: rice has decided to stop plugin development for the time being.
'Tis sad but of course the great news is Orkin porting Gln64 to directx, he's called it direct64, While no sources yet Orkin regulary releases his sources.

It maybe stooped, but as far as i know, this version is pretty much completed, so its getting damn close to a good-accurated emulation
Thanks lantus for keeping us informed

When you look at it from a whole perspective, theres probably thousands of things lacking in rice's plugin that makes it far from perfect.
On the whole its excellent, but theres countless little things (dont mistake little with 'easy') that need to be fixed.
The point is its very sad to see him go, as his plugin is far from perfect emulation...but i doubt that was his goal in the first place. Im happy to see such a excellent release.

Thanks for the news, I didn't know about this, hopefully if the sources do get released then it could further enhance our chances of compatibility...
The fact the sources for Rice's latest sources are great too...
BTW I see you post at vcdquality

Great news, but whats the news on 1964 source? What are those guys doing? Its been nearly a half a year since their new version came out and still no source? Are they being selfish or what?

Lantus if this were to be put into surreal how long do you think it would take on an estimate? A couple weeks, or several months? Just trying to get a time frame. Do you think by july would be a good estimate?

well, since im married in October and have tons of organizing to do.
Damn right mister. You'd better have ordered that cake I wanted. And I'm not making do with any old dress either, you'll just have to sell your Xbox stuff. Especially since they'll be no more coding from now on, there's work to be done around the house you know, and if you think I'm picking up after you you've got another thing coming. And when was the last time you.... etc. etc.

What exactly all goes into porting? Do you just have to change the types of files to match what the xbox will play? I'm just curious because I've noticed some ports come out really quick while others take several months. Are some things just more complicated?
For instance for surreal you wouldn't be changing any of the program cores since you have have new sources or so I think. So all you would be doing is upgrading the plugin? If this is the case shouldn't it be relatively easy to swap them out? Or is it alot more complicated than this.
Just curious but would it be possible on this release to be able to adjust the settings on each game and be able to save those settings? Or does surreal allready do this? Because mine won't save anything. So anytime I want to play super smash brothers I have to research my settings since I allways forget them.
Also there is a recent thread about control stick sensity, but I didn't see you respond to it. Is it possible to impliment this?

the rice source *generally speaking* ports over quite nicely, however we have added tons of xbox specific stuff in their which takes time to re-port each time rice releases a new plugin.
