Perfect dark can be run fine with 128mb of ram and one of the newest surreals (xxx beta 4 as of now) but not on 1.0 since it doesn't support 128mb boxes...

Also, I couldn't tell you, since I have a 1.6 and therefore can't do a ram upgrade.  If I could I wouldn't anyways because N64 emulation is fun, but not my favorite.  I play my NES, SNES games A LOT more than Surreal yet I still keep my roms.  Why?

Mario Tennis
Emulator Version: Surreal64xxx beta 4
Rom Version: (U) (!)
Rom Settings: Video Plugin : Rice 5.10(5.31 has a bit better graphics but stutters and has slower, less constant framerate). Audio : Basic.

Comments: While Project64 plays with less glitches in the menu, I would rather have a smoother framerate. I prefer to play it on 1964.

1964: Debug info showed a 70-80fps and was very smooth. Slight graphics glitches unless you use Rice 5.60 which stutters and slows down(especially in the intros of a match). Dynarec mem : 6 Mbytes, Paging mem: 4 Mbytes(You could probably add 1-2 MBs to each; the debug showed that mem while playing stayed at around 6-8 Mbytes)

Project 64: Stutters more than 1964 but better graphics especially in the menus.
Dynarec mem: 6 Mbytes, Paging mem: 4 Mbytes.

UltraHLE: Untested.

I really liked how smooth it played under 1964. I would recommend using that for those that prefer smoother framerates and don't mind gfx glitches. If you don't mind giving up speed for quality, then you could try using Rice 5.60 under 1964 or Rice 5.31 under Project64.

Hmm....curses it won't let me edit the last post.

Oh well...

I found that using these settings under 1964 works even better than what I posted above:

Video: Rice 5.31
Audio: Basic
Dynarec:4 Mbytes
Paging:4 Mbytes

It helps play replays better in Mario Tennis.

Goldeneye...  Your best bet is UltraHLE + Messing with controller sensitivity.  I couldn't for the life of me get that thing running under the other two emulators using every know combination of Video Plugins and Settings known to man.  They both ran slow and very much unplayable.

i've heard a few people getting goldeneye running well through ultrahle, i just get a black screen that crashes my xbox with it.
im using surealxxx b4 which i got through the usual place.  i'm going to try downloading again to see if that gets it working (sometimes a fresh install works  ) but wondered if anyone had suggestions.
also is there a way to config ultrahle? i can config sureal and pj64 but not ultrahle...is that just the way it is?  and is there a way to add video/sound plugins to surealxxx?  if so where would these be found?
sorry for the barrage of questions  :D  thanks in advance

yep went back to the usual place and got Surreal64_xxx_b4 again and also took Surreal64_xxx_b4 fdb while i was there to check it out too.  both hang when i try to load goldeneye through ultrahle which leads me to think its a dodgy rom.
will wait and see what suggestions come my way on this one

Does anyone have some good settings for Pilot Wings 64?

I'm getting a bleeding sky texture in some levels.

Does anyone know of a way to get zelda ocarina of time to run without the horrid graphics glitches in towns and shops? Also I can't see the Z targeting reticle. I feel like I've tried everything at this point, but I've read posts where people have played through the whole thing on surreal and had only minor graphics bugs. How could this be?  blink.gif

Change the audio plug in used.

This also fixes the black mario head in Mario 64, and allows the Banjo Kazooie games to run, plus it works for both Zelda's.

Not sure about anything else.

Okay, I went through every setting possible on the surreal 64. For ZELDA OCARINA OF TIME, there was a problem with the 2D stuff in the shops and the temple of time ect... Anyway, what is causing that believe it or not is the SOUND. The optimal settings are as follows:

Audio Plugin: BASIC AUDIO!!!

Emulator:1964
Dynarec memory:8 Mbytes
Paging memory:  4 Mbytes

Rice 5.60

Well, I am not sure if there is a better cure or not and I hope this helps considering that this is the greatest game ever made.

This was actually covered 2 posts above your one.
Do you notice crackly/stuttery audio when you run it in BASIC audio mode?
