Run Out Of Emus.
« on: May 04, 2004, 06:19:00 AM »

do you log in to the xbox-scene web page to see the new stuff?

do you remeber the times when all the new emus came out?

are u bored because you dont have anything left to download?

well i recommend that you start playing all the games that you got for that emus.
because a lot of people have the roms...and they just play them like 5 minutes...
why dont u try all those of the underrated rom topic?

i started doing this and its really the very essence of what i was doing for like a year...downloading and downloading every day... or get the emus that almost nobody gets... like the xsms..

theres a lot of good roms out there that deserve time.

like good old and fun Dr. Mario Try it with all your friends, family or girlfriend!...its so smart!...

Note: Try the Snes Version Because It doesnt work the N64 version on surreal.

if u want something Fresh , Exciting and Simple...Try Wario Ware for the Gba. its so fun it grabs u until u finish it. and its so simple that even your granma can play it.

Note: it even includes  Dr. Wario

if you need a very deep Rpg like why dont u try the very famous Chrono trigger..
everybody talks about this Great Great Game ... why dont u try it ??

Note: After this one , your Rpg taste its gonna change forever.

if u want action and multiplayer action...try the metal slug series... metal slug its damn fun ...and it has all that contra lacks.

Note: the 3rd version its my favorite.

If you need something light but Rpgesque...please play Paper Mario for N64. it made me laugh a lot...in this short but sweet journey.

Note: Excellent with Surreal.

i will continue this list...and the ones with experience continue it if u want with your favorite games.

and start playing your emulators!...stop searching for more. play them!

If i start getting into long video games it takes away from my excersize time. I end up saying to myself "well..i can go play soccer, or i can level up a few more times...hrm....level up"

Games just are not what they used to be. I dont know if its the games or if its me (most likely a mixture of both), but i just dont enjoy them anymore.

Sounds like the typical case of seen it all, done it all. Don´t worry, it happens to most of us when we grow older.

Though i think this is a thread with a really sweet idea, for me and most people I know, playing an emulator means to relieve some good, old memories for little while. Let´s be honest : 80 % of the games sucked back in their age and they defininetly suck now. To really play them is a waste of time (few exections of course, Snatcher being one of them).

Maybe one of the Op´s here should open a pinned thread where everyone can post his/her secret special roms that are not common knowledge, but they believe are worth playing. Just the names, no discussion, just an idea.

I'm currently reviewing the "Beginners Guide", and adding links to trouble-shooting posts for some of the most popular emulators. Since I'm basing this on previous posts, it'll take some time to find relevant posts.

Anyway ... adding a link to a "Best Game" could probably be a good place to have in a beginners guide... I know that I searched for this in the beginning (especially for MAME and Genesis. So if someone knows of a good post from earlier, or can put together a "best game guide", I'd bee happy to link to this from my guide.

Suggestions to trouble-shooting posts is also appreciated to speed up the process of reviewing the guide.

im 20 years old...since last wednesday...

theres so much to do.

now you have a girlfriend. and u have to take care of someone in your family or something.. you have to take care of your school, then practice a sport. later you spend some time with your friends...(and youre not always playing games with them so...) then i have to work ...because its not cheap to have a girlfriend and pay for your new games.

WORK-SCHOOL-FAMILY-GIRLFRIEND-FRIENDS... THEN..your remaining time its 4 playing.

and you dont wanna play something that sucks. i think i spend more time in the pc getting those roms..than playing my xbox.

but thats over ... i really liked it but i think all those games deserve some time.

i have the chance to work in a pc because i work in a cyber-coffee...and if it wasnt 4 this job and this great Xbox-scene...(you) i wouldnt know a thing about all the great things you can do with an xbox.

now my girlfriend plays!...and thats the best thing that could happen to a gamer.

im not gonna forget that day that she beat me in soul calibur 2.
im not gonna forget how excited she was when she beat ocarina of time.
im not gonna forget how my dad talks to me more often now that he plays dr. mario with me in the wonderful xsnes9x... so lantus is guilty of the improval of communication of my dad and i.
im not gonna forget all the trash talking with my friends and i playing halo.

like i said... at the present time . its the best time to play videogames.
because its not like a geek thing to do. and i know that it never was.
but now more than ever. videogames connect us to know more about each other.
its not all about the gaming. its a way to live. its a way to know people...and since the beggining share a hobbie.

so i think games are just getting better instead of getting worse.

i dont consider myself a loser just because i dont know why but i cried when i was watching that dawn in wind waker with the king of the red lions.

neither when i was screaming at the tv when snatcher ends.

think of Prince of Persia the sands of time, Beyond good and evil, Advance Wars, Wario Ware, the original prince of persia, Chrono trigger, Final fantasy 7,8 and 9
Final Fantasy Tactics and Chronicles, Xenogears, Metal Gear Solid, H A L O ! ,
max payne, Mario Sunshine, Metroid prime, fusion and Zero mission, Kingdom Hearts, Chrono cross, Zone of the enders, Boktai, Policenauts...

and thats just a sample. now its the best time...more than ever.
The Golden Age, of Videogames.

I'm bored because MAME is the most overrated piece of non-linux software in history, and Kawaks doesn't support half the games I like.

Its nice to see that I'm not alone in collecting emus/roms more than playing them.

If you guys want to make a list where people can add their favs, that's on you...but for those impatient gamers, I've had great success at discovering great games for emus:

go to www.gamefaqs.com and click on "Systems" at the top of the front page.  Select the system you want to find a game to try and click the link for it.  The page that follows has two lists:  Top ten FAQs and Top ten message boards.  Especially with older systems (NES, SNES, Genesis), I've had really good success with this method.

If lots of people are still wanting information or discussing a game for these systems, it would seem reasonable that the game is pretty good.  Many of the games that have been mentioned on this thread could be discovered by 'my method'.

It's not a fool-proof method, and you might still have to worry about whether the emu(s)   can run the rom, but it only takes three clicks from this post to check it out, and i've never seen a popup from gamefaqs so it couldn't hurt to try.  Hope this helps someone find a great game to have a great time with.

Everyone should play Bio Hazard Battle on the Megadrive.

Turn up the speakers, get a friend and a subwoofer and you're good to go.

It's a shooting game with cool alien/insect/plant enemies and really cool music that sounds really good with lots of BASS!

...and for those that don't know, you've got to play Zero Wing and M.U.S.H.A. both are also shooting games, also on the Megadrive.

BYEEEEE!!

PS: When you play Zero Wing, watch the intro, it's famous around the world, and with good cause.

Why do you insist on calling it Megadrive?  Are you from Japan?  Are you very easily entertained?

Japanese names for exported products suck, in cars and consoles.

i dont think thats important.

what is important its that you understand the megadrive or Genesis name.
you should see the very pourpose of his post. i think youre the one who is very easily entertained... limit yourself to talk about this topic.
