When I was younger I dont recall ever completing a single game on the speccy , was I just that crap or were games just that hard?

Scabby - something I've been thinking about too

Bear in mind we had no/few save games and if anything only had level passwords. Also, we were young and inept!

But, no, I can't remember completing any either!

OH MY GOD!

Carcharius man, I don't know how to thank you enough!

THANK YOU for giving the Xbox what it was so sorely lacking.

Clive - I'm in the same position. Seasoned burner, but can't get this to shift.

Have used cdrw and dvd, have used simple iso and Qwix, have used Nero and Stomp now. Have even just ftp'd the files to the xbox.

When I run the spextrum.xbe - I just get a black frozen screen. When running from media the media is ignored and it goes straight to the dash

Files:-

Bios, snaps, media folders
spextrum.xbe file

Couple of read me's

your prob is you're not renaming spextrum.xbe to default.xbe.

When running from CDs / DVDs the XB only searches for files called default.xbe. Nothing else will boot from disc at all.

I havent tested from CD yet, but it's running fine from HD after renaming to default.xbe and that's on an NTSC xbox too!

No, the problem is that he needs to set his xbox to PAL.

Chaps -all sorted, and as I said above, Owners of 1st generation chips need to patch the xbe, and you are all right, if running from media, you need to rename it to default.xbe

The emu wouldn't be half so much fun if I didn't spend a day working this out!

Roll on Ant Attack, Alien Highway, Green Beret, Gunfright, Airwolf....

Finally played your emu FANTASTIC!

Love the keyboards, I was playing with the +2 keyboard thinking about how good it looked but when I changed to the small 48k I was shocked when the keyboard itself changed to it. I was like no way! I remember that!.

Another thing, how come green beret's sprites flicker, is it running too slow? i couldn't tell.

Is there any button other than A that can be freely mapped? The reason is that I cannot play green beret properly as I can't set any button for the flame thrower.

Once the incompatibilities are fixed, this will be my fave emulator.

Good job!

Well in that case - I'm definitely not retail patching it then - just for the comedy value of knowing a Mac user is struggling! wink.gif

Haven't a clue - not tried that game yet. It might be related to a problem I fixed with Robocop yesterday though.

Nope no buttons can be mapped whatsoever yet.

He says no, not YET.

I love it. I absolutely LOVE IT!

Jet set willy, Manic Miner, Hyper Sports, Daley Thompson's Decathlon, Mickie....

Is Jet Set Willy like Jet Set Radio, but pornographic?  biggrin.gif

LA!

I'll probably wait a release or two before I try this out, because all this multiple keyboards, kempston joystick, blahney is confusing the hell out of me, so I'll wait until it supports more games, so I can get more to work without knowing about the Spectrum itself.

Even though, I used to have a spectrum emu for my PC which had some cool top down racing game set in the future, damn I love that game.
