Ftp Problems, Only Seeing Video_ts Folder Mac
« on: October 09, 2004, 10:26:00 PM »

I am using a Mac with OS X 10.2.8 with the Xenium 2.0 prerelease software and no other bios, trying to create an ISO backup of a game i own.  When i ftp to my xbox (using Transmit), i can connect fine, but when i look in the /D: drive on my box i only find a VIDEO_TS folder.  No real data files that would relate to the game.  all the other directories have other files that are not what i need to create an ISO.  What am i doing wrong?  I've tried with several game and have the same VIDEO_TS folder in the /D: drive.

i have also tried using Xdisc, to create a backup but it has failed to connect with the xbox with the same network settings as i was able to connect with using Transmit.  Confussed as to why this would not work as well....

if you have any tips or info let me know, or know of any good Mac/Xbox sites/forums as well, as i feel there are very few.

 Danke (thanks)

Try backing up to your HDD with an app like dvd2xbox on the xbox and then FTPing...

Oh wait; you don't have a BIOS flashed. you need to flash a BIOS to access game data on discs, as well as to play the games once backed up and to run apps, etc... XOS2 is *not* a BIOS.

The reason you only see vide_ts when acessing a retail game disc is because XeniumOS does not do TOC unlocking for xdvdfs media.  Adding TOC unlocking to XeniumOS would compromise the legality, and morality, of the OS, so it is something we will never do, at least not as long as I'm involved in the project.
