I still can't get my solderless Xenium to work. I have tried all the possible fixes listed here and still nothing. I don't get any led light at all. I had to do the paper trick and it seems as though the adapter is as flush and aligned as possible. When I turn on the xbox it boots to the flubber splash screen, and if I insert a disc it plays it fine. However, when I booted the xbox with the dvd drive and hard drive disconnected, I got the flashing green and red on the eject button and a message on screen in about five different languages that my xbox needed service. But still no led's on the mod chip. I'm at my wits end here. Am I just that innept at installing this chip, or could it be a bad chip? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

probably would help if u said what version xbox u got. assuming ur flush against the board id guess its a v1.0?? just checking all the steps but did u hook up the d0 as well?

are u using the right DO point for your motherboard as they are different for different motherboards

c) is the chip on the adapter correctly

d) do you have a 1.6?

e) when you say flush is the adapter completly against the motherboard the blue part not the pins the pins shouldnt be visable as the adapter should be flat

f) did you put in the rivets?

The mobo is a v.1.0, and I did hook up the D0 according to the install diagrams I was using for reference. I can provide a digital pic for anyone who would like to see it. Oh and yes, the blue adapter is completely flush with the mobo. Also, there is solder in the LPC holes. I hope this helps. Thanks for your help.

Im guessing he doesnt want to risk it. Otherwise any person would have soldered it as its the best possible install.

seeing a noob buy a solderless adapter and complain about it not working: priceless...

OK did you use rubbing alcohol on the LPC points?

-Make sure the D0 point is inserted VERY snugly, it should go down fairly far and be pretty stuck in there.

When this happened to me my connections just weren't solid, check and make sure both the adapter and the D0 are in there very good.

I had the same problem with my chip, I sent it back to divineo. they shipped out a new chip and i was up and running in minutes...

Well, with a little more blood, sweat, and tears I was able to finally get my xenium solderless chip to work. What I did was remove it completely, clean the soldered LPC holes with rubbing alcohol with a q tip very thorougly, make sure the wire was in the D0 hole as far as I could insert it without breaking it, and I had to do the paper trick to get the pins to sit as flush as possible on the board and LPC's.

I did all of this last night and put the box back together, and thinking it would not make a difference, I set it aside for the night without hooking it up. This morning I figured I'd give it one more try before I set out for soldering tools, and what do you know? I saw the lights on the chip light up and the xenium bios screen appeared. So now I've backed up the eeprom, and I can focus on installing another bios....probably EVOX. Needless to say, I'm jazzed!!!! Thanks to all for the tips and suggestions.

Thanks X3. I finally got the Evolution X installed and working, along with the DVD2Xbox, and every thing is working great now. Now I can get started on the main reason I set out to mod my Xbox to begin with....console, and mame emulation.
