Yeah, i got a nice big 200 gig hard drive, however, i dont really like to delete and install alot of stuff all the time because i want to keep fragmentation down to a minimum, so ya know, lol.  but anyways, how come no one knows how to get pcsxbox to read bin images off of a cd-r??

My results thus far:

Using Nero 6:

DVD-ISO compliation, dragging test .bin & .cue over, burning to dvd+rw that I now my xbox will read. pcsxbox can see the files under iso9660 option, but keeps returning me to this menu when I try to load game. If you go up one directory and return to this 9660 option, you will see that the disc contents are now listed twice. Keep repeating this and it keeps re-listing them, so I would guess there is some bug here.

I next made a xISO using gdfimage, and burnt this. It appears when you choose UDF option, and loaded fine.

Next, a DVD-UDF compilation, using UDF 1.02 file system format. Didn't get detected.

Looks like you might need to be making xISOs. This however means you can't read the cd/dvd from your pc drive, only the xbox, if you want to retrieve the bin file at a late date.

It's strange, since the menus look like they support other formats. I might keep playing a bit over the next few days.

Thanks alot joshua wood, i havent been online for a while and i just search for this topic again, i'm going to try making an xiso of one of my ps1 games when i get home, i'm at school right now :\, i'll post my results later on today or tomorrow, thanks alot for the help.  A note to Xport, do you think it would be possible to make it so that pcsxbox can read just plain iso's, not xiso's, in the next release? (It would be great if it could just read plain playstation discs! lol, but i understand about the whole XA sectors and what not)

the easiest method is to use cdrwin to create the bin & cue files.

dump the bin & cue files into the PSX roms directory & your done.
