Although I do find most endings rather lame and disappointing, you come to expect this. What's really bad is when the leave it so open for a sequel like the movies do....
eg unreal 1, halo, come to mind instantly. That's just pathetic.

but unreal and halo both have sequels lol,

Unreal -> Unreal Tournament -> Unreal Tournament 2k3 -> Unreal 2 (just in the order they where released in)

halo -> halo 2

halo2's not out yet, but unreal 2 has been out for almost a year

It was still quite a fun game, although SMW is king, never played much of 3, but 2 seems to get cooler the more I think of it, since it's just so damm different....seems way more whacked, in a "journey" kinda way.... haha.... Although an Italian Plumber who when dressed in a Raccoon suit, can fly, is pretty out there, and then there's the most obvious, which came from the second ? block of Mario 1, the mushroom, which once "eaten" enabled new "abilities." Thus begins the journey that is Mario....

Have fun kids. Oh, and remember, winners don't use drugs.

THIS is how a game ending should be. Those you have completed it or read anything about it will know what I'm talking about. GAME DEVELOPERS TAKE NOTE!!!! This is how the end of Mario SHOULD have been!
