Surreal64 Compatibility List

QUOTE (Antipop @ Jan 19 2004, 08:05 PM)
I have to say that surreal64 is the best looking and playing n64 i have experienced so far! Great work...BUT

Thou it says in the list that majora's mask runs well, when i play it fps is only like 15, and after meeting the mask seller for the first time and entering trough the big door, it crashes my xbox...

ocarina of time (v1.0) USA .v64 locks up after nintendo logo... i was disappointed since these were the 2 games i most wanted to play sad.gif sad.gif

will surreal64 be updated often? or will it be like project 64 x - 1 release only...?

My suggestion for next (possible) version: make the buttons more sensitive!!! Personally, i think it's very frustrating that u have to squeeze the buttons in order to get a reaction... in racing games (mario kart64 for example) it really tires your finger, squeezing A trough race after race sad.gif so if it's possible, i hope u would make perhaps so that u could decide how sensitive the buttons are....or just make them MORE sensitive! smile.gif GREAT WORK ON THE EMU

I've just killed Morpha, the water temple boss which is welll over 1/2 way and I've had very few issues. It does crash a lot but that's when loading a save state. Often I'll have to try 2-3 times to get a save state to work (Sometimes they do sometimes they don't same save state). Once it loads the game plays fine and hasn't crashed once on me in 35+ hours of gameplay. Save the game normally to mempak (which I do as a precaution) and it loads fine everytime with no problems at all.

I'm using
Legend of Zelda, The - Ocarina of Time (U) (V1.0) [!].zip

renamed and checked by goodn64.

1.1, X2 4980.06, avalaunch as my dash.

Was using evox with IGR on for most of it changing to avalaunch hasn't made a difference.

The only thing is it time to get the Lens of truth from the well, Rice's plugin has known issues (As do most of the N64 plugins including Jabo's) and I hope it doesn't stop me. (Although if it does that mempak is going into 1964 on the pc.)

I like the page, although you should think of adding a "contributor" field to the info on each game. Also, maybe something for conflicting results.  Zero and myself are apparently the only two people in the world that can't get Majora's Mask [!] to run properly.  Also, I played a US Dump of Yoshi's story.  Don't have the CRC or emulator info now as I'm at work, but I'll post it soon.

Pilotwings is listed as perfect, I've played this extensively on the xbox tried the (E) & (U) goodrom and I have some graphics issues some levels play perfect but most suffer in some way from the bleed problem (Which I believe is an issue with Rice's plugin) it's playable but it's far from perfect. If someone has got this to play perfect could they please post which goodrom they used and what settings as I love this game.

wink.gif *hoho*).

but what i notice is, that most of the gfx glitches could already be fixed with the recent available plugins. as the emu was leeched first, and i havn't recognized its porter by now, i woder if it is still in progress...

for instance, when i visit the projects sourceforge site, there isn't one entry in the boards, no offence, but im sick of n64 emu ports coming out and never been improved...

is there anything i should know?

first off all, you guys did an amazing job, i know how hard it is to create a compatibility list this accurate (because a german board i visit fails on it every time.. wink.gif *hoho*).

Surreal64 is ported by Lantus (You may have heard of him) & oDD and it's going to get an update to 5.3.1 as well as attempts to get PD running faster. If this emulator was never updated I'd still be a happy man but I suspect it will get at least another couple of updates look at Lantus's previous projects.

QUOTE (elvato @ Jan 21 2004, 01:18 AM)
I have played Ocarina of Time Master Quest... it  plays fine till the end, but  it freezes at the end (ie. you beat the game but can't see the ending) .....   in Project 64 and 1964 .... but in 1964 you can't load savetstates cause the game freezes,  no problem in PJ64...

Majoras Mask runs fine in 1964, but as many people say, it has missing textures and sometimes freezes in the third day end,  also it becomes really slow when you enter the the room to the left of deku city, after you beat the first dungeon ... after a while it froze there too....  haven't gotten any further yet.....

It's a known issue with Master's Quest that you can't finish it on either emulator, check out this post for more information.

Zelda Ocarina of time is completable I know I just completed it and the ending sequence plays fine. I'll post a shots of the last boss when I setup somewhere to host my pics (If forgot the URL of the place I was hosting, if anyone could point in the direction of somewhere that's free and has reasonable reliablity I'd be grateful)

I only had a couple issues throughout the game none of them stopped me playing and none that really affected my enjoyment of the game. It's good to to finally put an old ghost to bed.
